"Good location but very bad service"
The location of the hotel was great but the quality of service was extremely poor. FIrst of all, their deluxe rooms were quite small, we could hardly move around in the room without tripping over our luggage. Secondly, in the room that was given to us, the bathroom was in one corner of the room and the wash basin was in the other corner of the room. […] There was no wash basin in the toilet of the room. When we asked them about this, they said that all the double bed rooms were built this way. I do not understand why did decided to have it this way as it was very inconvenient. Lastly, I asked the hotel manager for a simple weighing scale to check the weight of my check-in bags for flight travel to make sure they were under 50lbs. They first gave me a broken scale and when I told them it was broken, they informed that they do not have another one nor could they purchase a new one for the guests to use. It must've been a simple cheap USD10 item but they simply refused to offer it to their guests at the hotel. In fact they told me that I could purchase it by myself from the Walgreens near to the hotel, which I felt was extremely rude. The amount of money we spent at the hotel, I did not expect this type of service from them. Every hotel I have ever visited offers it to their guests. I don't think I will ever stay here again. There are over 30 hotels in downtown SF within a 1 mile radius to this hotel with much better customer service. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
Response by Hotel Diva Dear FL Traveller, Please accept my sincere apology for the inconvenience you experienced during your recent stay with us. It was reported to me by one of my team members what had happened when you requested for a weighing scale. Your request should have been accommodated regardless what the circumstance might have been. Please be assured that the incident has been corrected internally and will never happen again. Hotel Diva has various room types ranging from deluxe rooms to studios, executive king rooms and specialty suites which are comparatively much bigger in size. Depending on the room type, we have sinks both inside and outside the bathroom. I hope you will give Hotel Diva another chance and give us the opportunity to change your impression on us. I know we can do much better. Best regards, Virgil Lopez Hotel Manager

"Good but accommodating"
I have stayed at hotel diva before so this was not my first experience. I am still a bit disappointed with the thin walls and my ability to still hear outside noises pretty loudly. I was woken up the first night to a loud garbage truck picking up glass recyclables. That was very annoying since it happened at 3:30am. They were very accommodating though […] and moved me to another room. I appreciated that they gave their housecleaning staff off Christmas day-that shows me something about the company. We hope that you will consider coming back, if so please give us a call directly so that we can address your requests. Regards,

Very well located, just a block from Union Square and other SFO atractions, also easy to get any public transportation. Hotel has a nice atmosphere, the room I got was clean with two and reasonable space. For sure I will come back.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Great place if you want Union Square hotel"
As a former native of SF, I don't love staying in hotels in SF. That said, the Hotel Diva is actually divine. The neighborhood, especially over Thanksgiving, was more hectic than I would normally want for a weekend away, as the traffic and crowds got a bit overwhelming. I did not really use any of the "services" of the hotel, thus the neutral rating. […] Overall, it was very pleasant and reasonably priced for the location. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Nice place"
I did enjoy my stay at hotel Diva...however I must also note that we had a junior suite. The regular rooms are extremely tiny, but we had two nice sized bedrooms and a decent sized bathroom. The staff was very friendly. At the beginning of our stay the one elevator was out of service which made it difficult to leave since we were on the 7th floor with […] a baby in a stroller, but it was fixed. The location was near lotsd of great restaurants and convenience stores. Overall a nice stay and we will return if we are ever in the San Francisco area again. "Convenient location"
The hotel has had a nice makeover. It is close to Union Square. There are many restaurants and shopping close by. I recommend the Ramen/Japanese restaurant right next door, Katana-ya. It's even Zagat rated but tiny, so be prepared to wait. The elevators are slow and have a funky blue light so we mostly took the stairs. There are protesters at the Frank […] hotel a block down the street. Two of the 4 nights they started their protests at 7am and last until 8am. Their megaphones bring the chants into the room especially if you have a room that faces the lane! The hotel people were friendly but not very responsive. I asked the front desk twice for Kleenex during the stay, yet none was brought. House cleaning never replaced it during the 4 night stay. I guess I could have bought my own at the Walgreen across the street... Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"Boutique Hotel....very boutique...."
The pictures do not give you teh entire story. Reserved a mini suite, got upgraded to a 2 bedroom suite. The rooms were sooooo small you could not even set the suitcase anywhere. Bathroom very old. Sicks sooooo small you could not even wash your hands without spilliing water all over. Definitely pay a bit more a go to a nicer hotel.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"Excellent quiet yet convenient location"
I like this hotel. It was clean, the staff is friendly however be sure to call for your car well in advance if valet parked.. "Hotel Diva"
My husband and I wanted to be close to downtown San Francisco, which the hotel definitely was. The hotel room itself was small and the bathroom had no shelf space. While we only stayed a few days, there was not a lot of space to spread out clothes, and virtually no drawer space. Our room faced the street, so at night we did hear cars and traffic. "Hotel Diva - Nice hotel"
We stayed in a family room with 2 beds. It was a nice, spacious and modern looking room. Nice that this hotel offers family rooms. Hotel staff was very friendly, offering us advice on booking tours and things to do in the area. The only thing I didn't like about the room was the tiny bathroom. Also, the hotel is being remodeled and this caused some […] inconvenience. There are only 2 elevators and one was out of order during our stay, resulting in long wait times. We used the stairs most times. We were on the 4th floor. The direct surroundings of the hotel are not the greatest with bums hanging out directly outside the hotel. On the other hand, it is only 2 blocks from Union Square, which is nice. Skip the Pinecrest Diner for breakfast. They claim to serve the best breakfast in San Francisco, but it really isn't anything special and definitely not worth waiting in line for. "Great location, friendly staff"
The concierge at the hotel was particularly helpful to us with recommendations for local diners, when to walk the Golden Gate bridge, etc. The hotel was clean, the staff friendly, and the room comfortable. "Hotel Diva in San Francisco"
The staff here were really helpful and friendly. Everything was great. Only issues were poor water pressure in the shower, air was little noisy, and television had some static. "Spring Break with teenagers"
Hotel Diva was a great place for our 4 day stay in San Francisco. We were traveling with our kids (19 & 17) and our two room family suite was perfect, two bedrooms, two TV's and enough room to spread out. While the bathroom was a little old and small, the sheets and towels were clean. The location was close to sites we wanted to see and there were lots […] of good restaurants close by (not chain restaurants which we try and avoid on vacations). The staff were all very helpful and any time we needed something it was taken care of very quickly. It was nice to have the free coffee/tea in the mornings. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Not Just for Divas"
I traveled to San Fran with my boyfriend and dad for the night since my dad was in from out of town and we wanted to site see. The Hotel Diva is in a great location with restaurants and theatres in walking distance. The hotel service was excellent. We received a larger room than expected. The room was clean and the beds were comfortable. The hotel is […] a small, hip and trendy spot. It is in a busy part of town but is easy to get to. Valet parking is costly but that is expected at all hotels in a city where parking is limited. It has all the basics needed for a short stay and for a reasonable price. I would definitely stay there again and recommend it to others. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
A previous stay here was unpleasant due to the noise level of some late night younger city revelers. Security that night did not handle the problem, and I complained but was told the general manager was not in to take my complaint. I mentioned this incident on this check in, and the desk clerk put me into a quiet room on the top floor. Much, much better. […] Very clean room, great simple amenities, love the proximity to union Square. Watch out for parking! Very expensive valet at local hotels (in this case 1/3 the price of the room itself!) so look around for deals - they're everywhere. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"read the fine print"
it was partly my fault for being so naive and thinking that everything was going to go smoothly because the room was paid for in advance. Once I got there I realized I didnt have any cash or money in my vacation fund until that friday. Valet Parking was alot and the front desk basically told me that unless I had 150.00 cash to cover for "incidentals" […] there was nothing they could do. After I pitched a fit and asked for my money back on my card he called his manager and the manager said let her stay. I gave him the only cash I had for the valet, i tipped my valet, who was very very nice and when I got to the room it was cute but the smell was not fresh, there were no incidentals as the front desk had explained, there was no mini bar so there could be no charge even if I did take a snicker. there was no fridge, I had a cellphone so I wouldnt use the phone in teh room and I paid cash for my valet so why on earth would this place need to place a 150.00 cash when they dont have anything that can be taken and not paid for in this circumstance? I know most hotels do this on credit cards but I was only staying for one night, my room was paid for and I was with my small child. There was no continental breakfast, again no mini bar and I didnt use the phone and paid for parking in cash. Virgil the manager was nice enough to let me stay. The carpet in my room was rumpled and pulled. It had an Ikea feel to it but not as grand as I expected it to be for the price and the lack of amenities. The room was cute and the street was quiet at night. I probably wont stay here again but if I am caught in a pinch this place will do. It is a little too expensive for what they are offering but the decor is Ikeaish at best. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"Hotel Diva San Francisco"
Stayed a week in the Hotel Diva and found it comfortable and convenient. Although there are homeless people on the streets they are generally polite and not aggressive in any way. The room was a good size and the blinds were very cute, The beds were comfortable and the location was great.
