Great hotel from start to finish. Could see Golden Gate from our room, and if you go up tot he 5th floor on the south side you get a great view of the entire Pacific Heights hill and Bay area. If I had to nitpick and find cons: No bathtub (or even a hottub by the pool), TV was mounted so close to wall couldn't hook up computer, WiFi was barely passable to surf, Breakfast was good but continental so nothing hot = all carbs, Room was nice but carpet was lacking, tough to cool off on hot days (protip: open window and door to get breezeway going), and ours was very wide (15'?) so you couldn't see the TV from the beds. Would definitely stay here again! It's so close to Fisherman's Wharf. You'll only pay $7 for a taxi ride going there. Free breakfast buffet! The staffs are really friendly! I love their place! Noise insulation is absent. Room cleaning is performed quite late in the day (after 3pm), which is not convenient when you leave early with kids and come back not too late for them to enjoy the pool.

The room was okay - newish things...but the top header of the curtain fell on my head as I was trying to close the blinds. The mattresses were very tiny - they said queen size but it was a double. Not enough blankets...The maintenance men blocked off the stairs to the garage and you had to walk all the way around to get to your car. The front desk & all staff were amazingly helpful & kind. Everything worked great, continental breakfast included was very good, parking is extra. In the middle of all the sights of San Francisco. We had a great view of the Golden Gate Bridge from our room. Heated pool & laundry.

The hotel has an outside pool that is heated so it was really nice! They also have a sauna and workout room that we used. The attached restaurant has a nice continental breakfast and you can also order other things, which we did. In fact, their thinly sliced potatoes for breakfast were really good!

The hotel has a funny layout which means there is only one lift and the others require you to go out of the building and into the street which may be windy. Nice area, comfortable bed, breakfast service was really slow to the point where you had to wait in line standing up up to 20 min to be seated. My wool jacket was stolen from my room and basically room service said they didnt see or find anything, basically cleaning their hands.

This hotel is far less then what is advertised on their website. After a long day of traveling to the Bay Area and arriving at our hotel, we had to lug our bags up 2 separate elevates (no one elevate services all floors) located at separate ends of the hotel. The so called nearby parking is really city streets which posts parking limitations. Furthermore, […] just finding a parking space ate up way too much of our vacation time. There was no AC in the room, so the only air flow into the rooms comes for opening up the windows -- allowing the NOISY street below to echo into the room. And to top it off the exterior lighting blares into your room all night long (no blackout curtains -- oh yeah that would mean no no air flow into your room if you had them and could use them). Be aware that it is not close to Fisherman's Wharf. Way beyond walking distance. The 2nd elevator was turned off at night but they did not tell us. The restaurant on site was out of many things on thier menu.

At first the hotel looked weird on the outside, cheap looking, but the room was recently renovated with plenty of space, well appointed, and spacious. The bathroom was adequate, clean, and with fine terminations. The window looked out toward the street, not much of a view, though. Location was wonderful, nice neighborhood, close to Fisherman's Wharf, […] and the other piers. Easy to get to and from by public transportation which runs very efficiently in SF. Recommend using Super Shuttle or comparable service for airport transfers. Nice touch to get free continental breakfast buffet included at the Italian Rest below. Has a tiny business center, but you get free wifi in your room. Nice big hd tv to boot, and desks suited for business travel. Robes in the closet also a cool detail. Once you get over the funky exterior and relaxed security (easy entry from the rear of building with no guards) you realize you're in San Francisco to enjoy the city and not hang out at the hotel. If you're looking for resort accommodations and finicky touches, stay elsewhere. If you'd rather have a comfortable, clean, welcoming room after a long day sightseeing,with a friendly staff, this is a great place to stay on a budget! Read more
