We walked in to this beautiful lobby and the staff at the desk was exceptionally nice. It was awesome to have the parking and be able to come and go. The room was beautiful! The lobby of this hotel was very nice and the location was within walking distance of many of Fishermans' wharf attractions. The hotel was very clean and they have parking for $40 a day. On the negative side they did not give me the room we paid for and the beds are very uncomfortable. There were no extra linens in the room and the bathroom was stocked […] for three people even though the reservation was for 4. Decent place and close to the tourist places in the Bay area. We had ordered a two bed room, but when we arrived they only had single beds left. We got a roll-in bed instead, but no discount or apologies for the inconvenience. Also very noisy between the rooms. You can hear other talking in the neighbor rooms. The hotel was older however appeared to be remodeled, like many other ohotels in the area. We did not ask for handicap room however this is what we got - not at all appealing. This hotel had the most comfortable bed and pillows that I have ever slept on! The room was very clean and the view from our room was great. The only complaint that I have, is that the noise from the early morning garbage trucks is loud. This by no means is the fault of the hotel, but it is something to think about if you are a light sleeper. Public […] transportation is right outside the door and the location is perfect for walking to any destination in the city. Lots of good restaurants are tucked into the local neighborhoods, and they are much better than the large, over-priced, noisy, and crowded eateries on the wharf. While this hotel was very close to Fisherman's Wharf and clean, the staff was not very friendly. The coffee cups in the restaurant were dirty and the bus boy told me they were all that way, and gave me another that looked the same. They told us they have trouble getting a taxis, and we had to go out and flag our own. I was hosting a bachelorette party in San Francsico and we chose to stay here based off of the reviews. It was actually better than I expected. "Won't stay here again"
When I booked the hotel for one night I had no idea that they would be charging me almost $40 per vehicle parking fee plus over $5 parking tax per vehicle. A friend that went with me had to come late, so we had two vehicles costing us over $88 added to the already very expensive room for one night. If you stay at this hotel either find a spot to park […] on the street, which is near impossible, or plan on paying a lot of extra money for parking. "Holiday Inn Fisherman's Wharf"
I have mixed feelings about this hotel. Service was terrific, but the physical layout were awful. First, it was very difficult to enter the hotel entrance. The only sign was misleading, sending us around the block circling the hotel, and I finally had to call the hotel to ask how to get there. I had to then do a 270-degree left turn across oncoming […] traffic. The garage was far too small, with people parking in non-spaces. Check-in was extraordinarily slow -- 20 minutes to process 2 families ahead of us. But the check-in gal was the friendliest I have ever had. After checking in, we wanted to walk to Fisherman's Wharf, but the hotel is a walled compound, and we had to walk out the driveway (no pedestrial exit), on the side away from the water, then circle around the hotel to head toward the wharf. But enough compliaints about logistics. Other than that, the hotel was clean and well maintained, the staff was terrific, the beds were great (felt just like Westin's "Heavenly Bed"), and the price was a bargain. I have stayed in this Hotel previously, however on my 2nd night on this stay they decided to replace the carpet in the lobby area which was located beneath my room. The work men were hammering and banging for most of the night. I tried to contact reception on 4 occasions to ask how long the noise would continue.
