The bulls and bears of industry tread the streets of the Financial District, home to the city’s tallest buildings, including the iconic Transmerica Pyramid. The towers give way to The Embarcadero, the broad, palm-lined avenue that begins at the San Francisco Giant’s AT&T Park and ends at Fisherman’s Wharf. The road passes by the Ferry Building, a landmark transformed into an artisanal food market.

We booked 2 rooms at the Hilton on a special offer (160,- $ per room). Apparently this is how they rent out the rooms that are hard to rent out. Both our rooms where located right next to the elevator which we could hear all night long. Thin walls in general made it possible to follow our neighbors bathroom usage as well as on people's habits to arrive […] at and leave the hotel. Also a 15 minutes walk from the BART but that we knew before. Otherwise the rooms where clean and ok. Bathtub and furniture looked a little old. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"Definitely would stay there again"
The staff was very helpful! We needed more hangers and they brought them up right away. The room was clean and comfortable. It would have been nice to have a bit more closet space, though. We also didn't like the sliding door on the bathroom. They probably did that to keep the door from hitting the closet. But it was kind of hard to slide and couldn't […] be locked. You could also see into the bathroom through slight gaps between the wall and the sliding door. The sliding door had a large frosted-glass window in it, which allowed light from the bathroom to enter the sleeping area. The light bothered my wife once when she was trying to sleep and I was in the bathroom. The shower head didn't work properly at first. Almost no water came out of it. I ended up taking it apart and found an o-ring stuck inside the mechanism. After removing the o-ring it worked great. Don't know why the o-ring was in there. Maybe to restrict the water flow? We used the computers near the front desk a lot. They mostly were fast and worked well. A couple of times I couldn't get on the internet, but usually I could. Also, the printer worked great. Very fast, with high quality printouts. The location was perfect for us. We mostly walked everywhere. Overall, we had a great time and are glad we decided to stay at the Hilton. "Wonderful location"
My husband had a wonderful time during our stay in San Francisco. The hotel is in an ideal location- between Chinatown and North Beach. It's also within walking distance to the bus stops and cable car stops. We will definitely stay here again the next time we visit San Francisco.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Another $$&$$ vacation"
Great views, small rooms! The receptionist gave us the wrong room keys, had to take the tired fam back down and wait for the right keys. I'd go back.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Hilton financial district"
I was pleased with the courtesy and helpfulness of everyone I came into contact with at this hotel. The rooms were clean and well cared for. We have stayed here once before and also had a great time and similar experience. I would definitely stay here again in the future. My only complaint would be the price of parking my car during the visit. I never […] took the car in or out during our trip so I did not use the valet services that were available when I paid for valet. Perhaps there could be a general parking fee at a lower rate for those who just want to park their vehicle and do not need to take it in and out during their stay. I hope this helps! I truly enjoyed my stay and look foreword to my next trip to San Francisco! Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"Cucumber water..."
I must say the water at the front desk was the best thing! So delicious and refreshing with the cucumber! You must try! The stay was pretty good. The beds were soft and comfortable. Pillows were a little too soft for me but I just had to double it up. I wish the bathroom door would actually close though. It was a sliding door that didn't shut all the […] way & doesn't lock. It's right in the Chinatown area. It has plenty of restaurants within walking distance. Pier 39 is a 25-30 min walk from the hotel, 15-20 mins from Union Square, and the Bart was 10 mins away. "Weekend Getaway"
My son and I stayed here for a weekend getaway. The booking was easy, check-in was easy, stay was nice. The room had a great view of the bay (18th floor), beds were comfy, only thing that was odd is a stain on the floor. Overall good place.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

Everyone was very helpful, especially the concierge desk people; they really went out of their way to anticipate our needs. Curious about the sliding bathroom doors, though, only odd thing about the otherwise great room.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Hilton S.F. Financial District not worth the price"
The room with Bay view I had requested (and paid for) was not available at check-in, for some reason. The view from my room was not worth the price. Our first night there, we were awakened by a loud construction noise outside the hotel. We'll pick another hotel next time.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"close to most sights & great view"
We did not use room service so I cannot rate that. With the size of my family & teenagers we had a double bed room which was fine. I would have liked a roll-away, but the small couch worked fine. We were on the 20th floor & yes there was some music coming from above the executive rooms I guest. But being from Los Angeles & with teenagers that was like […] being home lol, so it was not a problem. The family loved it and wanted to stay another day. The restroom airvent fan did not work, which caused the mirror to steam up. We really were gone quite a bit playing the full blown tourist roll. Hotel staff was fine. Overall it was a good spot for the price. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Great value, great stay"
Wonderful experience. The only negative was the cost of valet parking and some of the services - Internet etc.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Response by Hilton San Francisco Downtown/Financial District Thank you for taking the time out of your day to share your feedback. We are pleased that you had a great stay. In regards to the valet cost, it is in line and cheaper than most major hotels in the City. As for internet, we do have free WiFi in the lobby and all public areas. We hope you’ll visit us again soon!

Not being able to get anything to eat at arrival 11 pm is not what you expect from a Hilton hotel. We were promised - and had paid for - bay view room, which were not the fact. However we were compensated.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Excellent Location"
Adjacent to China town made this hotel location very good for walking excursions. As you would expect with a hotel in this class, all of the basics were covered well, albeit expensively. I think the cost for parking and a continental breakfast were together, almost half of the cost of a nightly rate. The AC in the room didn't function very well though […] probably not a critical factor in SF. Overall we were quite satisfied since location is probably the single best feature of the hotel and a requirement for anyone visiting SF. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
Response by Hilton San Francisco Downtown/Financial District It is true that our hotel is in a prime location in San Francisco, across the street from Chinatown, in the heart of the Financial District, 5 minutes away from North Beach, and a few minutes away from the Embarcadero, Coit Tower and Fisherman’s Warf. We apologize about the AC unit. Next time let us know as soon as you experience any technical difficulties and our exceptional Engineering team will fix it in no time. Parking is expensive in San Francisco, but our price is in line or even cheaper than most of the hotels in the area. There is a much cheaper parking option across the street, but its only useful for guests who aren’t using their car to get around in the city, as it does not allow ‘in & out’ privileges. We are ever grateful for your feedback, and we look forward to your return!
"great service."
The service was great. The hotel is in the middle of china town and close to most of the important parts of the bay. The only thing is lacking is free WiFi on the rooms. The available internet was way too overpriced.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Response by Hilton San Francisco Downtown/Financial District Thank you for your kind comments. I am confident that our staff delights in knowing that they contributed to the enjoyment of your stay. As for Wifi, it is free in the lobby and all public areas. The cost in the room is in line with or even cheaper than most hotels in the area.

"Great value for money and well located"
Reception was fantastic and room very clean and comfortable. Bed was awesome! Valet parking a bit pricey so we valet parked on day one and private parked across the road on day two. Booked on hotels.com and got an excellent last minute rate which suited our needs and budget at the time.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
the hotel was really in bad location, no parking other than the hotel parking and they charge $45 per night which is to much, the front disk made many mistakes with us when I re-newmy for one more night. hotel's food was not good as well, rooms was so small and old, no upgrad made for a long time, this will be the first and last time at this hotel.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"Avoid Valet"
I've stayed at the hotel several times. During my last stay, I valeted my car. The valet cost is pretty high ($55/night) so I expected at least good service. However, when I got my car back 3 hrs after valeting it, there was a dent on my driver side door. I inquired about it and the valet person denied any wrong doing and said there wasn't a car parked […] next to my car. They brought out the valet manager, who is a 23 year old boy. I asked for a refund of the valet cost and for them to pay to repair the dent. The manager refused on both terms and said "I can't refund the valet cost because you are paying for the service we provided". I thought that was absolutely ridiculous. He asked me to fill out a 2 page incident report, which I did. The incident report asked for the driver name to I went to the valet driver and asked for his name. He said his name was "Check", which was obviously not his name. So I asked for an id from him to I can fill out the incident report appropriately and he refused and ran away. The manager seemed unconcerned and did not intervene. Needless to say, the entire ordeal was extremely frustrating and the valet company was incredibly unprofessional. I got a response to my incident report 2 days after submitting it and they said they went through a "thorough" investigation and decided to deny my claim. So now for my troubles, I ended with a dent on my car that I have to pay myself to get repaired. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"Not far from the ballpark"
The hotel stay was great. The only issue I see is with the cost of parking. $45 per night for self parking in the hotel garage or $55 for valet parking. That is outrageous. But all was great because we found public parking across the street on Washington for just $10 a night.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"Love the location"
We stayed one night in this Hilton Hotel a few days before Christmas and loved the location, right next to Chinatown, walking distance to dozens of restaurants and unique shops. It is also easy walking distance to shopping in the financial district and the Ferry Building, and not too far from Union Square either! We loved this place and will definitely […] go back whenever we are in SF! The hotel itself was comfortable, very clean and warm. Would definitely recommend it. "Hilton San Francisco Downtown"
Stayed at this Hilton hotel in downtown SF from 12-28 to 12-30-11. Everything you read about from the previous reviews are true - the loud construction noises, ear-plugs in the room, thin walls where you can eavesdrop on your neighbors and the very slow elevators that take forever to show up. When we checked in upon arrival, it felt like the lady at […] the front desk could not care less. She was professional alright, but you could tell that she couldn't care to service you by the way she was answering my typical tourissy questions. On our 2nd day of stay, our room was not cleaned until past 2pm, and the bathroom amenities were not refilled (not that i was taking them home). I'm very disappointed with my experience. I get better service at a Hampton Inn, and would expect more from a Hilton chain. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"San Francisco Chinatown Gem"
If you're looking for a great hotel that is walking distance from San Francisco's Chinatown, I would highly recommend this hotel. The remodeled rooms are clean and comfortable with decent views for the rate. Aside from the hit-or-miss customer service at the front desk (person who checked us in was wonderful, but person who checked us out was okay at […] best), and the drilling outside that starts too early in the morning (before 8am), our 2-night stay with our dogs was pleasant. "Hilton Chinatown/Financial District"
Even though the building is rather dated on the exterior, and is probably still best remembered as the "Chinatown Holiday Inn" (former occupant), the interior has been thoroughly rennovated and is under new management (Hilton), with superbly trained staff who are all friendly and helpful. Ask for the "Bay View" and you will be rewarded with a view of […] the Coit Tower whose lighting changes with the season, time of the day. On a high enough floor with the unrestricted view, Alcatraz Island floats tentalizingly seemingly nearby to Coit Tower. It may well be worth the upgrade cost (or stay frequently enough with the Hilton family chain) to get onto the Executive floor, as the free breakfast, Happy Hour and higher floor view are well worth the extra charges. Valet parking at $55/day hurts, but with a little planning, parking the car across the way at the public Portsmouth Square Parking lot will save you half that cost. The hotel is within easy walking distance to Chinatown, North Beach just up three blocks and a diagonal turn up Columbus, and Union Square is easily within walking reach via the Financial District. In fact it is in a perfect location for walking towards and along the Embarcadero (flat) or for the strong of heart up some of the Hills of SF, all within the shadowns oif the TransAmerica pyramid. "Good location But Too much for Parking per day!"
The hotel was almost good for all except the parking fee per day! $55 day for valet $45 for self parking! It is definitely way too much for a day parking! If you don't mind for parking fee, then it will be perfect hotel at the perfet location. Otherewise you should look for the other hotels in other location with no additional parking fee!Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Hilton Financial District in San Francisco"
Overall a good experience but we were surprised that there was no fridge in the room. (Considering the prices). They did deliver one after we asked though. Room was not very big and the windows were very dirty. There is construction accross the street and it obsructs part of the view if you are on that side.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
The room we got smelled like a smoking room. But other than that I would recommend it.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
