Hotel Features.
A commanding spherical metal sculpture rises from a reflecting pool in the soaring Feng Shui-influenced atrium lobby. Cylindrical glass elevators glide between the hotel's 17 floors, delivering guests to their rooms in futuristic style. The lobby offers up-market shops and a car-rental agency. Dining options include the Eclipse Restaurant that features a California salad, pasta, sandwich, steak and seafood menu. The lobby bar, 13 Views, offers 13 picture-window views of the adjacent plaza and waterfront. The bar serves cocktails, specialty drinks and appetizers. A total of 67,000 square feet of function space includes 35 flexible function rooms and a street-level ballroom. Wired and wireless Internet access are available for a fee. A staffed business center is equipped with three computer stations and offers fax, photocopy, print and shipping services. The complimentary, 24-hour fitness center contains exercise cycles, exercise balls, weights, steppers and stair climbers. Workout machines are mounted with individual TV monitors.

The Hyatt Regency San Francisco offers 802 contemporary guestrooms with autumnal color schemes and city or bay views. Hyatt Grand Beds feature pillow-top mattresses, 250-thread-count linens and chenille throws. Rooms include cable television equipped with premium movie channels, DVD players on request, iPod docking stations, video game consoles, and wireless and wired Internet access for a fee. A turndown service is available upon request, complimentary safes accommodate laptops, and mini fridges are provided. Bathrooms contain makeup mirrors, granite vanities and floors, and Portico toiletries. Guests may request an in-room massage. I stayed for one evening on business at the hotel and I have to say they really go out of their way to ensure your stay is memorable. From check in to check out you are treated like royalty! The only reason I didn't rate give a top overall rating is because it is expensive!! Over $60 for valet(including tip) $22 for express dry cleaning(for 1 suit!). […] $30 for the breakfast buffet(including tip) an drinks at the bar were good and sting, but spendy! "Outrageous parking charges"
The hotel is nice but a bit outdated. The room was cold no matter how the thermostat was adjusted. Considering how high the room rate was, there should have been free internet but it was extra - a lot extra, and so was parking. I don't get excited about hotels, in fact I think this is maybe my second review of a hotel ever - the first one was not a good one (a hotel in NY). Anyway, I am seriously impressed with the Hyatt Regency Embarcadero for one simple reason - the staff. I mean, most times a hotel is a hotel - whatever right? Give me a bed, some quiet, and leave me alone. […] That's what I got at this hotel, but when I did interact with staff they were seriously nice - just really friendly and not in a bad way, or over the top kind of way. Front desk, restaurant, housekeeping, just very friendly, personable and made me feel like a valued guest. That's really appreciated ya know - it goes a long way. The staff at this hotel exceeded any experience I have seen. Their attention to detail and observation of customer needs was terrific. "Not a hotel snob"
I'm not a hotel snob, so I cannot speak for those who would knit pick every part of the hotel. The exterior is nothing to look at, but the interior lobby/atrium is really cool looking. The bay view with balcony room that I had was really nice for hanging out and having some drinks with friends. Perfect geographical location for both day and evening access to business and tourist's areas. Easy access to public transportation (cable car, bus, Bart). Next time I may even take Bart from the airport which stops at the hotel entrance. "Beautiful, but Nickel and Dimed..and not Helpful."
A beautiful building, though bathrooms a bit outdated. The chamber maids were friendly, nice, and the front desk was patient with me. The Doormen were also helpful. The Concierge, as I mentioned, were programmed to only smile and give directions. Not very helpful, or able of handling anything out of the ordinary. What they did help with turned out to […] be misguided advice. Always amazes me, the more expensive the hotel, the less aminities they offer. Can go to a Comfort Inn and get free internet, a fridge for your use in the room (thiers was stocked with items at an exhorbant price w/ a steep fee to have them removed, Intenet also a fee per day). Was afraid to touch anything in the room in fear of another cost tacked on (Local calls: charged) Did not use TV in fear of a charge that I may not have noticed. This was a business trip and pennies were counted. The classroom was confortable temp (a real plus.) Even though I was not able to eat much, it was my loss as he food was exquisite. I know I have been harsh on this otherwise fine Hotel, but this was the worst trip I 've had (I travel frequently) and totally exhausted. Although this certainly is not the fault of the Hotel, it would have been nice if there was someone that had the ability to help troubleshoot for you when you are not sure what to do. Seemed everyone was programed to smile, but not trained to help with t travel disasters. ( I eventially did get my bag back 3 days and 2 extra trips to the airport). That was a great stay. Not to far from the convention center (moscone center) , It is about 5-7 min. bus ride , which are very frequent on Market Street from the convention center. As for the room, It is quite large. the bathroom is a little small but very functionnal. The bed is very confortable (not to stiff nor to soft), plenty of pillows. There […] was no bathrobe in the room when I checked In, but just call a the reception and they provided one without problem. If you are eligible to go to the residency club, it is quite good (food and service) , and the view is fantastic (Bay, and Bay Bridge). Concierge services are great.
