Clock Bar - Located in the Main Lobby. Cocktail lounge specializing in handcrafted cocktails and creative menu selections. Rosewood walls, dark leather banquettes. Two columns of hand-blown champagne glass and amber-colored glass display clocks showing the time in cities around the world.
The Unwind Hour - Reception (surcharge) held in Caruso's Tuesday-Saturday evenings. Wines from 11 of Napa Valley's premier wine producers along with gourmet appetizers.
Room service is available 24 hours a day.
The on-site St. Francis Health Club & Spa includes the two-level Westin Reebok Workout Center. Cardio and resistance machines are on the main level, with a ceiling painted to resemble the sky. Weights are up a short flight of stairs. TVs are mounted on walls. Locker rooms include showers and steam rooms. Running maps are available. A per-day or per-stay surcharge applies for use of the workout center (waived for guests having a same-day spa service).
For an exhilarating waterfront walk or run with picture-perfect views, take the historic F-line streetcar (about two blocks from the hotel) to the Ferry Building Marketplace. Fuel up with gourmet snacks or organic produce from the Marketplace, then head north toward Fisherman's Wharf or south toward AT&T Park.

"Great Location - Concierge stunk"
The hotel is in a great location - right in the heart of Union Square. The rooms were nice, and the hotel staff were all super friendly. My only complaint is that both times we used the concierge to recommend things - they led us to bad experiences. "Not very kid friendly"
The hotel itself is beautiful. But do not go to this hotel with a baby and not bring your own bed of some sort... Not having done so myself made for a rough night...almost 2 hours went by of being told by someone different many times that one was Its way before i spoke with a manager who admitted there werent any left and got one from a different hotel […] and it ended up being an awefull sleep option anyway...and the mini fridge is sooo overpriced $5 or $5.50 for a can of soda??? I have stayed on business twice before with gorgeous views and rooms but this stay was truly disappointing. We had a Classic Queen room which did not have a Queen bed but a double bed, the room was smaller than my work office--it was terrible! Theaters, transportation, and idenity make the St Francis to stay. Hotel staff about 50% are GREAT the other, need to find new jobs that they enjoy! Closet room had paint peeling. Removal of mini bar left a huge hole in the side of cabinet which was surprising to see in a Westin. Fabulous location and awesome views of Union Square from our room. Nice interior and lots of history to the hotel. Only glitch was that the person who checked us in watched us stand in the Starwood Preferred line for over 5 minutes (she was in the "regular" section. She had NO one to service. Finally my husband walked over two computers to her non existant […] line and asked to be checked in. Then all of a sudden, she could help him. What a joke. I walked off to explore the lobby with my son until my husband came up to me, irritated that I must be the one to check us in, because the reservation was in my name. He left our bag at the counter and we switched off with our son. She was not rude directly, but their was an air of snobbiness that I have not ever experienced in any hotels around the world. Then as I was done checking in, I leaned down to get our bag and she says, "Yes, that is his bag." As if it was some strange fools. I replied politely by saying, "No. It is OUR bag. Thank you." She gave me a smile then a snide look. This check in clerk might consider being much more careful about her "attitude" with clients. She has no idea the annual incomes, nor anything else about clients. Because I used hotels.com, she assumes that I am on a budget. Her attitude would make me reconsider another stay hear. The review we read said the hotel had been completely redone and updated - well then, they bought all their furnishings at a second hand store. It looks like is lost it's luster 50 years ago. The staff in every direction was rude, unhelpful and was bothered if you asked any question. this stay was a super special adventure for my 5 year old son and i. friends and family had gifted this trip. the room was prepaid. i had knee surgery and now use a walker. we weren't able to go in the front door, only stairs. we walked another 2 blocks into the garage to get in... walked through the cars to get in. after standing in line for quite […] some time, we finally get to the front counter to ck in. the clerk was super nice, i asked if there was any possibility to get a room with a view of union square. she said we could with a $50 upgrade. i told her i couldn't do that. she suggested a room next to the elevator with a peak of union square. she asked for a credit card. i had one and gave it to her. she asked for another. she needed to charge $80 on our card for ck in. i didn't have $80 available on my card. i told her that i could give her $80 cash instead. she ckd in the back office and came out to say that i had to give her $250 in cash for the deposit. in tears, i said, "i don't have $250.". i have $82 in cash, a $50 gift debit card,... she went to the back office again. came out and said " i am sorry but i cannot ck you in". i had a prepaid room and was not able to ck in??? and no where in my confirmation did it say i had to be able to authorize $80 or have $250 cash. i asked to have my money returned so that i could find a place for my son and i to stay. she said that she could not return my money since i had booked through hotels.com. so, can't get ckd in. can't get my money back. i asked her. Not what I was expect from such a highly regarded hotel. Front desk personnel had their back turned pretending not to see those waiting in line. No shampoo or conditioner in the room and 3 towels for the 4 of us. Parking was $50 per night! Room in the historic section was a good size but the carpet was well worn. Late night room parties by teenagers […] kept us awake. Seemed to be The hotel in SF for holiday parties for high school and college students. Top hotel, great service, great comfort, great location. Thought that reservations was rude when i called to get confirmation for my room. I asked to get a roll away bed and she spoke over me and said room already had 2 double beds. She did not help and said the roll away would not fit.
