We visited last Thanksgiving to see several towns in the area and were absolutely enchanted with Newport. The weather was chilly, but the historic homes... were incredible. We even found the plain, quiet neighborhood immediately surrounding the Carriage House rather nice. The staff, whenever we spoke to them were very friendly. I almost hate to note this given everything else, but we did have one bad experience. The walls were a bit thin and we had heard a family being a bit noisy for quite some time. After midnight we heard another man confront them about the noise and start shouting. So if you can, it might be worthwhile to get a room away from other guests. We wanted to visit Newport without spending a fortune and yet recieve quality lodging. The room was very comfortable and clean. The breakfast provided in the moring was more than enough to carry us through the day. Very friendly and welcoming.

This hotel was only about 1/2 mile from downtown Newport, but for the money we got a large room with a king-sized bed and a good breakfast. Would definitely stay there again.

The Carriage House Inn was a delightful small hotel just outside of town. The front desk personnel were very helpful and friendly. The room was simple, but very clean and comfortable. I would highly recommend this hotel , and will be back myself when in the area.

Very comfortable & clean. More like a B&B than a hotel. We arrived 3 hours before check-in & they had no problem letting us have the room early. Decent size room. Friendly staff. Very cozy place.

Dans l'ensemble, l'hotel est bien par contre nous avons trouvé que les chambres étaient un peu désuait - salle de bain défraichit. Équipement tel que frigo, micre-ondes, télé etc.... était bien.
