Super 8 Omaha / West

There was a smoke smell everywhere in the building except in our room. We were really concerned. But our room was thankfully smoke free. Every common area reeked of smoke.

Lets start off being real here, this was a budget hotel, no spa, no workout room, no pool. That being said, there was free wifi, a very comfortable bed, and a great free (self serve) breakfast! Hot waffles and syrup, oranges, white-wheat-raisen bread for toast, peanut butter, assorted jellies, coffee, tea, orange and apple drink, a microwave, milk, […] cereal (none of which was stale :). All we wanted was a bedroom, we got much more than we bargained for. The only detractions were minor and very much anticipated, institutional (thin and cheap) toilet paper and tissues. Got to hotel. Staff was nice. Seemed like he had a long day and was very tired. Gave us a basement room that smelled like mold and mildew (recent flooding in the area I assume). We politely asked for an upstairs room. He abliged. Room was a lot better but then lacked a refrigerator. So we were then forced to purchase a giant cooler for the groceries […] we had picked up for our stay. Continental breakfast was pretty good. Overall a touch over priced, but decent. Read more

I cancelled the super 8 hotel in Keokuk, Iowa because my non-smoking room smelled like smoke. In Omaha the bottom floor was smoking and you could still smell it on the 3rd floor. No elevator to take our luggage up and c ouldn't stay on the first floor. Needless to say I will not stay in a Super 8 motel again and would not recommend it,

Convenient location, 20 minutes from Strategic Air Command, 10 from the Zoo or Old Market. Service was great but we were on the bottom floor and the room was VERY musty/moldy smelling. The bathroom could have been cleaner and there was some mold on the ceiling and another spot that had been painted over that had visible mold underneath it.

The breakfast was ample with make-your-own waffles, fruit, cereals, toast, bagels, juices, etc. Rooms were clean, but there were no "closet" areas, just a hanging rack in the back corner of the room.
