"Good value in Alsip"

Got stuck at Midway airport and chose the Double Tree because of prior experience of the chain. Was not disapointed. From the shuttle driver,the front desk staff to the food service personell all were fantastic. "Close to Midway Airport and restaurants"
The actual room was great. However, I noticed there were always food trays in the hallway every time I left my room. A few trays stayed in the same spot the whole day. I don't know if room service was backed up or what. Also, I did not like the housekeeping manager walking into my room right after a knock to place a bottle of water on the desk especially […] if I did not invite her in. She could have easily stolen something if I wasn't there and blamed it on someone else. After I checked in, no one should have been coming into my room except for the maid in the morning to do housekeeping. If I needed a $5 bottle of water, I would have asked for it. "Unexpectedly pleasant stay"
I booked my hotel from the web which gave me a chance to review many of the comments about various hotels. Doubletree was not my first consideration, but the price was right at the time. Although there were no negative reviews on this hotel, there were no outstanding ones either( that I found). My flight arrived early and so I called the hotel to find […] out if I could check in earlier than the 3pm time specified and the very friendly speaking operator stated that would not be a problem. I was given a very warm greeting at the check-in desk, given two warm,chunky chocolate cookies and informed about the hotel's restuarant with a time-limited discount coupon for the evening. My room was very clean, neat and well arranged. I had plenty of towels. My room service breakfast that I pre-order the night before, was delivered at the time requested and the attendant was very pleasant. Upon check out, I was assisted very promptly and was asked about my stay. Overall, I was very satisfied with my accomdations and the service. My only concern is that the hotel is eight miles from the airport and that was not made very clear when I booked the hotel on the web, but it is a relatively straight shot (about 20 mins) to the Chicago Midway airport. "Always Dependable, Comfortable Stay"
I come here a couple times a year. It says alot when the staff doesn't change. The food is very good, including the breakfast buffet.
