Comfortable hotel and room. Clean, nice bathroom and shower. Heater took while to warm the room (it's November), but no big deal. Free Wifi internet in the room, which was great. After reading the reviews I ddn't expect much but was looking to stay close to the Fairgrounds and this is very close. It was very clean, even the restuarant in the hotel was very good. Overall pleased and would stay there again.

Room was spacious and had a large flat screen TV and a roomy mini refridgerator. The beds and linens were comfortable. I did have an annoying fly in the room which I finally was able to kill the morning of my checkout. Although the room faced the highway there was no highway noise noticed in the room. The bathtub needs to be replaced as there are permanent […] stains in the surface and the toilet needs to be addressed for being wobbely and running without reason. The breakfast was heavy on carbs and could use more fruit. The staff was very pleasant. The interior seems to have been updated recently. The steakhouse on sight seemed busy with local patrons so it is probably good although I was eating with friends and relatives on this visit. Was great while working at the State Fairgrounds during the State Fair opening weekend. Enjoyed the steakhouse downstairs. Housekeeping did a great job 'resetting' my room each day. Was disappointed that there was no pool and the cigarette smoke smell in my non smoking room.

I have stayed in the hotel for many years due to closeness to the fairgrounds. I always felt it was a moderate hotel at best with fairly clean rooms at a decent rate, and Daniella's steak house which is attached is a great little steak house with a full bar. When I checked in this year I noticed that they had renovated more in the lobby, but when I […] walked into the room I was amazed at the transformation the rooms had taken. Everything seemed recently remodeled. They bed was nice and firm with plenty of good pillows and a nice clean comforter on top. Not one of those thin papery ones that a lot hotels use. There was a large flat screen television and your own Keurig coffee makers with a few K cups left out on top of the mini fridge. Its not a big hotel only 2 floors and probably about 60 rooms in total. The staff was very friendly and helpful and the restaurant though very small is extremely excellent. A great place to stay especially if on business or going to the fair. I come in the beginning of April every year for the dogs shows. Don't worry they don't take dogs except service animals. However, since its right down the road for the fairgrounds where the show is held the place was full of exhibitors. Everyone noticed and commented on the great remodeling of the hotel. Stayed here 3 nights for business. Wasn't sure driving in as I had never been to the "fairgrounds" area before. There's not much around the initial area but Fairgrounds, however Daniella's Steakhouse which is in the hotel is phenomenal, and very well priced for the quality of food. Easy access to the university for an affordable price, which is why we stay there. Instead of fighting for lodging closer to campus and paying a premium for it, we found the Inn at the Faigrounds accessible to all points of interest around Syracuse but far enough away from town to save money and have rooms available for most occasions.

My only complaint was the live music at the restaurant. Typically This wouldn't matter to me except it woke me from my sleep and kept me awake most of the night. The add said only breakfast was available but there was a resturant on site with good food (steak and pasta primarily) at average prices while other choices are limited in the immediate area.
