"They don't pre-heat"
I booked a room because I needed to be in Syracuse for business and wanted to drive up the night before. The temperature when I got to the hotel was -3 Fahrenheit outside. I got my room key, and went up to the room, and when I arrived there, I found a room that was absolutely frigid. The room is not centrally heated, there is a heating/air conditioning […] unit that has to be turned on for heat. I called the front desk and was told all the rooms are like that, so I had to sit in my winter coat for two hours waiting for the room to reach a tolerable temperature to go to sleep. "Bad experience."
We had to switch rooms twice because the rooms were not clean (bathrooms, sheets, etc). Eventually the owner or manager or some sort of higher up arrived and helped us get into a room which was clean. The staff was helpful, apologetic, and tried their best, but whoever the maid service was did a terrible job cleaning. They did finally resolve the situation […] to our satisfaction and got us in a clean, comfortable room. The experience would have been very pleasing if that had been our first room. "Staff is not customer service focused"
Two separate front counter staff were less than helpful and fairly rude. They gave the impression we were an imposition on their time. Their answers were curt and unengaged. "graduation hotel"
This was the only hotel close to the graduation that we were attending. We arrived late and got the last room available. The hotel seemed adequate but when we opened the door to our room we were knocked over by the stale cigarette odor. There was some sort of air filter running on the desk, but it had no effect. "Automatic doors, please!!"

"SKETCHY!!"
BE WARNED - if they claim to have lost your reservation, and want you to call and cancel with Hotels.com, don't do it!! They are trying to work the system, and get all the money for themselves - AND screw you out of your Welcome Rewards Points. Also - TERRIBLE customer service - VERBALLY requested 2 REGULAR coffee cups (they use K-cups, very stingy […] with then!) - never got what I asked for (even with a tip included) for 6 DAYS - how dense are these people?! Breakfast leaves much to be desired, pillows are hard, service is awful, no pool, gym is basically a closet with a tredmill in it, carpet is nasty, water pressure bad.... I was in town for a conference and I had early classes, during my stay there was a party in the hallway which kept me awake till 3 a.m. I think management should have had more control over the quiet time .
