"Mixed bag"
We stayed at Domain Hotel so that we could be close to my daughter's championship swim meet. Unfortunately the hotel was hosting a "gaming convention" that weekend. We were assured that they would be gone by 9pm on Friday. So not the case! They were getting drunk (loudly!) until at least 1am. We woke up to find people passed out in every public space. […] My daughter barely slept due to the extreme noise. The next night was more of the same with the exciting development of some drunk guy passing out with his head literally against our door at 1am. The staff were very apologetic, but also very ineffectual. The upside was that they refunded the cost of our stay. "Nice hotel, but too noisy"
The place is old but has been nicely reshaped. The rooms are large and come with a very nice design. You can go to a full fitness place on the other side of the street, where you will find all you can think of for a full-body exercise, which I enjoyed very much. What makes it hard for me to put anything higher than an overall 3 is the noise. This hotel is beautiful. Amazing service, great beds, really nice. Except for a few important things. You have to go on a treasure hunt to find the ice machine. And when I did find it, it was broken. Did not get the free breakfast I booked, however our friends did that booked at same time.. We arrived at 2 when walking to our room there were various dishes still sitting outside rooms until at least 6pm!..did not like the fact as a registered guest we all got frisked by renta cops...if we wanted to go out and have a smoke we had to get frisked again […] to come back in!! "Business stay"
Very unprofessional receptionist. Started arguing and accusing we were not telling the truth. Next morning after issue had been solved the receptionist started very disrespectfully laughing when we came to the check-put. Staff was very nice; however there was trouble with room keys not working even after 3 re key attempts. No toilet tissue in room. Issues over included breakfast. "Okay, but not like the website"
This hotel is okay, but not as nice as it looks on the website. I think it was a Motel 6 or something in the past that was just upgraded to look 'fancier.' There was no air in our room so it was super stuffy! When I turned on the fan it was so loud we couldn't hear the TV without blasting it. Also, our room faced the courtyard below and it felt really […] claustrophobic. I would request a room with an actual window. We heard all the kitchen noise and music being pumped out in the lobby most of the night. This area of town isn't the nicest either. It's alot of suburban type strip malls and in a 'little India' area. Lots of Indian food if that is what you like. There was a huge Indian market across the street from the hotel. There was no free continental breakfast, you had to pay use the computers in the office area, and the TV channel selection was the worst I've ever had! All it had was CNN and sports channels for the most part. The whole hotel seemed geared for single computer nerd guys. I would not recommend families stay here or couples- it was not fun or romantic. Heating and air conditioning were hard to work and it took too long to get warm. Got there and the air conditioning was on very hig, so room was very cold on a cool day. "A bit above average and a bit weir too..."
The hotel offers a contemporary presentation and seems promising at first. However, there are a series of rooms that face inward to the hotel and have no natural daylight and no way to properly ventilate. I assume this is why my room smelled musty (?). "beautiful, but noisy room"
Very clean and well maintained. Comfortable bed and thoughtful finishing touches. Biggest problem was the noise in the morning. Our room was above kitchen and by 6:00am we were awakened by a lot of noise from hall and kitchen. Enough noise so we would not stay again. "Good hotel - if they fix the management ~"
The hotel was very nice, clean and the staff was very friendly and really trying to do their best. We did have issues that they did their best to fix; we reserved a 2 bed room and confirmed a late check in. When we arrived at just after midnight they had no double rooms. They did give us a suite which would have been great, however we are a family of […] 4. 2 adults, and 2 teens. They gave us a twin roll away- still one person shy. Rough night, good thing my nearly adult daughter is small, slept 3 to the King bed. Sorry, Daddy! They assured us a new room the next day. Breakfast was great on Sat~hot, good food. Called the hotel from Great America to be sure they have the room taken care of, oh yes. Arrived back from the park, and found that they still had no double rooms. They did give us 2 rooms, both with Kings. We would have rather been together - but made do. Sunday breakfast~7 to 10 am~went down at 9:10 and the food was gone! a few muffins and hot chocolate left. They apologized, they had no cook that morning and something about two water polo teams. We had to go to Denny's down the road. "Loud AC and thin walls"
The air conditioning is dreadfully noisy. I decided to tolerate the heat and switched it off. A few minutes later the guest in the next room started his AC and it sounded as if it was in my room. The walls are thin and I heard loud noises every time the other guests walked around or flushed or showered Sleep number beds cant do much to make this experience […] any better! We are aware of the A/C units and we are planning to replace the units by the end of this year. Our breakfast was designed to provide variety for our guests and as another year goes by we are realizing that it is time for a change. We have a few ideas in the "brain storming" stage and we hope to revamp the breakfast as soon as 2013.

Not impressed with this facility. Pros: TV, bed comfort, and complimentary breakfast were good. Cons: Had to let hot water run for five minutes before getting hot water. We do know our water temperature and AC units are in need of improvement and that’s we are fixing these areas a soon as possible. Within the next few weeks our temperature problem should be fixed and by the holidays of 2012 we will have new AC units in all of rooms. We are searching to for units that are quit but will still uphold our green certification we have had running for 4 plus years.
"No Phones and Not Enough Towels"
The hotel allowed five in a room. We were three adults and two small children but there were only enough towels for the adults only. Two phones in room but neither of them worked. Used cell phone to call for towels and reported phone problem. Towels were delivered promptly and front desk promised that maintenance would repair phones within the hour […] which would be before 10:00 AM. "Still good, but changes are not positive"
This was always my home away from home in the south bay area... Spend a week here every few months on business. They tiered the wireless. So there is still free, but really slow... if you don't want wait a minute for a page to load now you have buy premium. They also went from real coffee makers in the room to a cheap single cup tea bag sized pouch […] brewer. Members of thier loyalty program used to get a welcome wine in the room... That is gone also. "Recommended (But Only Sort Of)"
This was the second time we stayed and checking in was chaotic, being sent to not one but two rooms that had not seen maid service. The third time, I think the desk clerk should've gone to check the room himself, but he didn't. Finally, the third room was one that was made up. "Loud place"
I have stayed in Domain hotel twice. And each time the same problem occurred. It is not silent place. If you are looking for quiet you should choose another hotel. There are parties till 11pm and guests of parties behaviors like guest of parties. And as the main ballroom is at the center of hotel you can't do anything about that.
