Lots of odd sounds and stale smell. No on site exercise room or sauna. On site pool is only open summer. You can walk across the parking lot and swim/ exercise. The restaurant is expensive even for breakfast. Next time I will stay some wear else.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

room was open, door blocked open, when we checked in. Later that evening, when returning to the room we discovered there were no bath towels. Called the front desk and was told there was not one clean towel available in the entire hotel. Asked how that could be, the male answering the phone said they had a problem and lots of people used towels for […] the pool area. It is not known if that is why our door was propped open - to get towels for the pool, but it was unusual. After midnight a scruffy worker brought two towels to our room. Staff seemed disgruntled that they had to fix this problem. Not acceptable that extra linens are not kept on hand. Manager was seen more than once sitting at the front of the registration desk chatting away and resting, advising incoming guest to have a nice stay. Not very professional. Also not competetive another hotel our friends stayed at that was much nicer, cheaper, and offered a breakfast with the room. "Old annex"
We have stayed at the Red Lion three times. It is listed as a 3 star hotel. Two of the three times we stayed there, we have been stuck in their annex building, a long walk across their parking lot. It is old and smells and the rooms have no bathtub. It is 2 star at best. The one time they actually gave us a room in the main hotel was very nice. No complaints […] at all. The problem is, I think they give people who make their reservations through Expedia or other discount companies, rooms in the annex. The hotel was okay the sheets and air in the rooms were muggy, didn't sleep good beds were uncomfortable, and when husband asked for shaving cream and razor they NEVER brought it to us. We stayed at the Red Lion in Lewiston in November 2011. It wasn't terrible but it sure wasn't great. If you need a clean place to stay for the night it does the job, but you won't be tempted to stay too long. The staff are functional, not very helpful or welcoming. The rooms are clean and spacious but dark and dingy. I applaud the effort to reduce pwer […] consumption but when your guesta are wishing they had flashlights you've gone to far with the low power bulbs. One of our rooms was quiet but the other overlooked the lobby and the walls were paper thin so that was very disturbing. The weather was cold when we were there. The heaters worked well but very noisy. I woke up thinking I was next to a jet runway. Finally I put on a sweater and turned it off in an effort to sleep more comfortably. The first night we are there, the bathroom sink is plugged. Maintenance unplugs it, then the drain begins to leak the next night. My daughter's sheets had something nasty stuck on the top sheet. I asked for new sheets and changed them. My key card became inactivated 3 times through out the 8 night stay. Yes, I know where NOT to keep the card. Our room […] had 2 beer bottle tops near the bed stand that were there when we arrived and never picked up. I left them to see...if maybe they would be. The bathroom floor was never cleaned the whole time we were there. Although the hotel is big and appears "fancy", the management and customer service is lacking.
