"Poor Choice"
We chose this hotel because it was the cheapest in the area and close to where we were going. It took 35 minutes to check in because the lady behind the desk was forever slow and hand wrote everything instead of using a computer. The rooms looked really run down and not kept up. The door didn't lock unless you used the key. The mirror in the bathroom […] was dirty, the carpets stained, and the whole place smelled like a wet dog, and the bedspread had rips in it. My God you couldn't pay me to stay there. Could hear both neighbors on each side, plus upstairs. The sitting chairs where full of big holes, threadbare towels and no big bathtowels to dry off with. We had aplugged toilet and were told Maintenance would not be in until Monday. The clerk said I could come down to the front desk and get a plunger. I told him we were already in our night clothes so he said he would put a plunger by our door which he didn't do. "Overhaul Needed"
Threadbare public areas, declining into outright, shabby, down grade to a 1+ star level appropriate for a tired, worn out edifice.
