This completely non-smoking hotel features a 4-story atrium lobby accented in Mediterranean-style décor. The atrium overlooks the on-site Cork Bar, which features live entertainment on the Riverwalk's bank. The Hotel Contessa - Riverwalk Luxury Suites offers a 24-hour business center, luggage storage, 10 meeting rooms, and technology support staff. The Woodhouse Day Spa highlights European facials, pure collagen treatments, kids' bubble manicures, sports massage, and reflexology. A rooftop terrace, heated outdoor pool, spa tub, and a glass-enclosed patio offer panoramic views. A 24-hour cardiovascular fitness center with free weights also offers panoramic views of the city's skyline. Valet parking is available on site, and other parking can be found nearby (surcharge). Suites exude Mediterranean ambience with exposed brick walls, earth-toned colors and Ann Parks' Yellow Rose reproductions. Floor-to-ceiling windows offer skyline or Riverwalk views. Beds feature pillowtop mattresses and down comforters. Separate parlors and living areas include sofa beds. 2 in-room, flat-screen televisions include high-definition premium cable channels. High-speed wired and wireless Internet access is complimentary. Bathrooms feature massage showerheads and marble vanities, and are stocked with complimentary bath products. Accommodations include coffeemakers and minibars. In-room safes are laptop compatible.

The Cork Bar - Located in the atrium, overlooking Riverwalk. Extensive wine list, cocktails, beer, and light fare. Specialties include: melon mojitos, red and white sangria, yellow rose martinis, and Thai basil margaritas.

Poolside bar - Open Friday and Saturday afternoons during summer.
Room service - Available during limited hours.
The rooftop outdoor pool is surrounded by a sundeck with lounge chairs and umbrellas. A 24-hour fitness room on the 12th floor contains flat-screen TVs, free weights, a stationary and a recumbent bicycle, two treadmills, and two elliptical cross trainers. In-room massage is available by appointment (surcharge).
Golf courses are within five miles.

The Contessa is a very comfortable hotel. Our room was arranged as a suite with a separate sitting room. We selected a river view room, which gave us a great view of the Riverwalk. Conveniently located on the Riverwalk, access to restaurants and attractions in the area is excellent. The Alamo is in easy walking distance. Service, from the time you drive […] up to the point of departure, was also excellent. Valet parking is offered and recommended, but a little pricey. There are great restaurant opportunities nearby on the Riverwalk, but the buffet breakfast in the hotel restaurant is a great way to start the day. Our room was not particularly suited for a business related stay. There is a built-in "desk" area in the bedroom, but no desk in the sitting area where you can set up a laptop. Electrical outlets in the sitting area are also limited. Wifi access was free and worked well. There was a refrigerated minibar and the usual complimentary coffee and tea, but no sink or separate refrigerator for your own use. This was my second visit to Hotel Contessa. The rooms are very big and spacious. There is a seperate living room with another tv which really helps when you have kids with you. Stayed during the Thanksgiving Holiday and totallly enjoyed our stay. I know the area and parked my own vehicle in covered parking for $12. a day with in & out priviliges. "Damp-proof your vitamin's"
Great convenient location but no parking, and the garage that is a block away has no in-and-out privileges. Nice large rooms. My only two complaints are they try to help the environment with their signs to help conserve water, but then ignore them and still change all the towels and bed linen every day.....even when we hung our towels up like told to. When calculating the cost of your stay make sure to account for the $15/day parking you will pay to park across the street or $40/day if you valet. Room was clean and comfortable and staff very attentive. For some reason almost every light bulb in my room was loose such that they flickered every time a door was closed. Easy enough to fix by myself. […] The non-working electrical output at the coffee station was a disappointment. Over all it was not a good experience. I had reserved two non smoking rooms with double beds. One of the rooms smelled like someone had smoked in it plus it did not have a double bed. the toilet was not working properly and it clogged. The other room's bathroom sink was leaking a lot. "Maybe"
The hotel was nice but I was upset that I had no functioning toilet in our room the whole weekend we stayed. We informed the hotel but they did not get this issue resolved.
