The good: Nice hotel. Great proximity to Riverwalk and Alamo. Rooms were large with a seating area. Very clean. Friendly desk staff. The bad: Breakfast was a terrible experience, not nearly enough seating - not even close, had to wait for a table then had to eat with people standing all around me like vultures waiting for my table, terrible breakfast […] food stocking...ran out of food and took forever to replace the food. I waited over 30 minutes for some new biscuits and gravy and eggs, after 30 minutes, some new biscuits showed up, but nothing else. After checking in, we were going to the Riverwalk and asked the clerk if they had a shuttle and she said that they did not but we could catch a trolley. We asked her where and she said that it was over by the Fairfield and to look for the yellow route. We asked her where that was at and she just kind of waved her hand in the direction, we asked her […] what street we should go to and she made some comment. There was no one waiting or needing help so I don't know why she was so short and not helpful with us. The next morning we found they had a pad of town maps and we got one from the desk clerk who marked where the hotel was. We also never did find the yellow trolley after going to about 3 bus stops, we ended up walking. When coming back that night we were told by a San Antonio information person that we wanted the red trolley and it would only take us sp far and that he was unaware of a yellow trolley that went as far as we were told by the desk clerk. Employees were great. Rooms were very clean. We were out early to go to stock show to go watch our daughter show her pig and the lady at the desk gave us a breakfast bag for my daughter so that she could have breakfast a little later. I liked that. We will return to this hotel next year.

overall pretty good; however, there is a biker bar right behind the hotel. We are bikers and was on our bike for this trip. Mid-week we hear some, then Thursday night it was difficult to sleep. Can't image how bad it would have been Friday and Saturday!

I liked everything about the hotel. The only thing was that we were on the first floor and our upstairs neighbors were extremely loud late night!!!! So it was difficult to get to sleep.

Got in about 15 mins after check-in and had to wait over 45 mins for a clean room to be available. But we got a free upgrade which was nice! Beautiful room! The wi-fi sucks! If you would walk away from your tablet/laptop for even a few minutes you would be kicked off the network! And sometimes it would say "too many people logged". I inquired about […] it but the clerk said that he would contact the tech about "releasing more ip addresses", which of course did not help. The breakfast is awesome! Better than most hotels who serve the "coffee and one-pastry" thing! You get a FULL breakfast from 6:30 a.m - 9:30 a.m! Small area for dining though but the breakfast was two thumbs up! It looks like there's only one elevator in the building. It is really slooww....maybe needs upgrading. Can't help it but there are some businesses close by that house heavy vehicles of the sort. Was very noisy a few mornings with the sound of big trucks and annoying forklifts! The Riverwalk is not far...maybe a 7-10 minute walk. Better than paying for parking ($10-$20) at nearby "parking-lots". Great shopping and dining all over, especially at the Riverwalk Mall. Overall it was an alright and pleasant stay! If you're on a budget and cannot stay at the more flashier spots like the Marriot and the Hilton then this would be an awesome location for you! Read more

I had a two day reservation in a two king size one sofa bed suite and it was excellent. Everything was comfy and clean. The AC was super cold. The family was very pleased. We decided to stay a third night but we had to change rooms. That was understandable due to the short notice. We went to a two queen size and one sofa bed room. However with that […] room we did have issues. It was still dirty. Hair all over the bathroom and it was evident it had not been vacuumed. It was right down the hall from our first room too. Big difference in cleanliness. Also the AC was not working properly. The front desk staff was awesome, friendly, and very helpful. Everyone we encountered on our there night stay was great. Hotel was clean, staff was very nice and helpful; however, arrived on Friday, only enough hot water for one shower for the weekend. Only one elevator made wait time a lengthy. Wish breakfast area was a little bigger, a lot of people standing waiting for tables.

The quality of the Holiday Inn Express is very satisfactory; however the check in time is not the best time especially when one is coming on a road trip. My opinion about it is that the check in time should be earlier than 3:00pm. Other than the personnel of the Holiday Inn are very respectful and friendly. Thank you for the good service.
