Hilton San Antonio Hill Country Hotel & Spa

The hotel is beautiful and a great value. We stayed in a 2 bedroom suite with our 3 children and it was perfect. The only thing that seemed to be a problem across the board was the Food and Beverage service through out the hotel. The morning buffet was what you would expect accept for the fact that the warming plates didn't keep the food warm, for our […] entire breakfast 30 minutes- pancakes were never available and other foods had to be requested for replenishment. Dinner that night was good but french onion soup had to be sent back because the bread on top was so stale you could not cut it with a knife and the children's Alfredo returned because it was covered in black pepper making it too spicy for children. Room service for breakfast - 2 place settings sent for a family of 5, one single serving of syrup sent when we ordered 3 orders of pancakes and the additional sides left off order. Hilton was very quick to apologize for the problems but it just was a bummer to keep having a problem at every meal. However I would roll the dice and go back again hoping for improvements and perhaps I would venture off campus for food. Read more

This Hilton was out by Seaworld, but we were not in San Antonio for Seaworld. We were there for Fiesta. The hotel was out of the way - not downtown, but that was the nice thing. I had two rooms and they did not I form me that my DEBIT card was going to be charged 50 per day for incidentals - I was on vacation spending money until I found out my debit card was charged 400 dollars!!!! I did not plan for this expense to come out so it created a hardship for me-

My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay. There were a few issues, some not controlled by the hotel (group of high school band kids) running down halls and filling up the pool. The one thing we were looking to most was hanging out by the fire pits and pool, but weren't able to due to all the children. The room was nice, but the furniture was becoming […] extremely dated. It had tons of Knicks in the furniture and looked a bit overused. Our room was not vaccumed but sheets/linens were nice and clean. The door to our room had a broken lock, you actually had to lift the handle up to open the door. When you pressed down like a standard door handle, it would lock the dead bolt. Loved our stay here. Great evening activities for the kids like the outdoor movies and smores. Be prepared to spend extra $ for things usually included at a lot hotels such as breakfast and a refrigerator in the room. Room was good and beds very comfortable. Was close enough to all must see sites. Kids loved the pools. Grounds were clean and very pretty. Didn't understand why wifi was not free. All hotel staff were very nice. I will definitely stay at hotel again. I would recommend the hotel to anybody looking for a great place to stay.

We decided on a whim to join our son, daughter-in-law and two grandsons on a trip to Sea World. Got a last minute deal at the Hilton. Worked out great as we arrived late, slept in, took the Hilton's shuttle to the park and met the family. Room was excellent. Loved the comfort of the bed and soft pillows. The hotel was very nice. It was very convenient to where we were going the next day. Staff were all friendly and professional. When we first arrived, we discovered out TV didn't work. We called the front desk and someone was there right away to take care of it. The room was very nice. Very comfortable bed and pillows. The bathroom looked like it had […] been updated, except for the shower and tub. The tub was a spa tub and the jets looked like they were yellowing. The outside of the tub had some sort of yellow something splattered on it (possibly glue?). The shower pan looked old. There were 2 different shower heads. I wanted to use the one on the wall and while showering, the rain head started putting out cold water. Didn't feel too good. There were fire pits outside at night where you could sit with your family and make s'mores (you had to buy the s'more kits for $5.00 each). We ate the breakfast buffet at the hotel restaurant the next morning. Nothing special. Most of the food was barely warm. Two of us ordered omelets. The omelets were good, but very small. I would definitely stay here again, however there were a few issues with the room that I would like to see remedied. The closet ceiling seemed to be and access point to some plumbing and the tile grid was loose and barley hanging on. Also there was an access hole cut in the ceiling above the shower that the cosmetic plastic cover does not fully conceal […] meaning that you are showering under a small area of exposed ceiling. When i went to turn the shower on i also found that the handle was caked up with some kind of soap (at least i hope it was soap) that crumbled into my hand. A couple of small issues but enough to be noticed. The stay however was great and the property is really nice and we would definitely return. The room is cozy and well designed. The King Suite that I had was very nice. The little patio to be able to sit and look around was a nice suprise. The King size bed was awesome, slept great the weekend I was there. The Room was clean, up to date and modern very Nice.

Beautiful grounds, the only problems I encountered was the restaurant bringing me out a rare steak I ordered medium, and my side order was what my husband ordered for his steak. They need to check the ac system because we turned ours down to 60 but it remained stuffy. Other than that, it was a great experience.

I don't know if we'll be staying here again unless we plan a trip to Sea World. Considering we were there for the rodeo it was a bit out of the way but not inconvinient. The hotel itself was very nice and our room was comforatable. The food service and food itself was pretty terrible though. We spent $60 on room service Friday night that wasn't good […] and served cold. The next day, we tried breakfast in the Sun Spot Lounge, service was horrible. It took 20 minutes for us to place our order, they were understaffed, and the buffet was cold. We also heard a waitress yell at a customer who was simply asking a question. Friendly front desk reception. Stingy on bathroom supplies: Tissue box had 2 pieces of tissues left, 1 roll of toilet paper and not a spare on site, 1 trash can in a King suit room and only 3 towels. We had to request for another tissue box, toiletries and additional garbage can. We ordered room service for breakfast, 20 min. later we only got the beverages. […] We were told that someone took our food tray and we had to wait another 20 min for another breakfast to be cooked. The breakfast was overpriced for the little amt they gave us. That was the only meal we ate in the hotel since other affordable eating places are within close proximity. Everything went well. When I checked in the lady pointed out the restaurant and mentioned that it was complimentary breakfast. After having imaginary complimentary breakfast it turns up it wasn't included. I went to the front desk to verify and they couldn't help me. So, always double check before you fall like I did.

I was pleased to get a good price to stay at this Hilton. My travel company did a good job. Prices were good, the hotel was great, outside was really appealing. I had some problems when I checked in, the room door was ajared, and the front desk didn't know why, I can only assume the staff left it that way because they were not through. There were no […] face towels in the room and we only got some when they cleaned the next day. I used the extra blanket the second night, I left it on the bed, alone with a sweater I was wearing, the next day after the room was cleaned, I found the sweater in the folded blanket. It seems that the room was not vacuumed on Dec. 31st, I noted stuff on the floor. I need to say that my grandson enjoyed our stay, where he played basketball and swimmed each day we stayed. We enjoyed our stay, however there were a few issues. First, no minifridge in the room without paying for one, daily. Never in all my travels have I encountered this. More importantly, there was at least one towel in the room that was stained with what appeared to be blood. Lastly the restaurant should not be limited to the Bar area for dinner.

Besides being given a room in the maintenance hallway, the hotel was clean, friendly staff, comfortable room. The best feature was the shuttle to Sea World or close enough to quickly drive there. Worst features: no free breakfast and no suites.

It was very convienient to Sea World and nice that they offer complimentary shuttle to Sea World. I don't think it is right that they charge $9.95 per night for internet service in your room and they also charge for local calls. I found out when I checked in that they take out $50.00 for incidentals on you charge card. Other than that it was okay.

The hotel is very conveniently located right across the highway from SeaWorld and they offer a complimentary shuttle to and from SeaWorld. One negative thing about this hotel is that they do not offer free in room WIFI service. You literally need to be in the lobby area to take advantage of the free WIFI. Just disappointed after driving from Dallas and getting in around 9:30pm they did not have the 2 queen bed room available after it was confirmed. Evidently, they give their Hilton club members status over the rest of us. They tried to update us to a suite which was ok, but it had a pull out bed for the kids (not comfortable) at all. After reading several reviews, I was worried about what I had gotten us into. When we arrived we were greeted right away. The room was very spacious and nice. The bathroom could have been a little cleanier but it was more of lazy cleaning vs it not being cleaned at all. Overall I was completly satisfied with our stay. Would book again.
