"rude service"
Hotel was very nice, but looks are only skin deep. Rude service the whole time and when I called cuz my meeting was running a little late they said they would gladly give me a late checkout for a small fee of $25 an hour. Nice hotel with a very nice pool area. It was our first visit. We requested a late check-in and check-out which was provided. We arrived late in the evening and ask if possible for a room with a view. We stayed at the Hilton while attending nearby wedding festivities at the nearby Hyatt Resort. The staff was extremely friendly, helpful, and attentive. Room was clean, ready on time, had appropriate toiletries, and was big enough. My husband and I stayed here for one night for our anniversary. We arrived around 4:30, we checked in and got the keys to our room, however we WERE NOT escorted to our room... I left an expensive item in the bathroom, I realized it when I returned home that evening. I called right away and was told to call in the morning when the housekepping supervisor returns. Staff was very friendly, room not so clean. We found popcorn on floor, old coffee bag in coffee maker, and coffee maker didn't work. No water in rooms or in vending machines on our floor, nor the floor above or below. My kids 2 and 4 aren't usually allowed to have coke but that was the only thing my husband found and it took them for ever to fall asleep. It was a electrical short they said, and urged us to go back to sleep, but who could sleep with that lout sound and two babies screaming and shaking with fear. "Could use some maintenance"
So we were sold a king suite from Hotels.com that we had to prepay for. But when we got there they were sold out of them. Surprise, surprise. I was a little disappointed to say the least. The hotel did however offer a 20% discount on our stay, breakfast vouchers and free s'more kits for the fire the first evening. So, I will say the service was really […] good. The property however could use some updating. The carpet throughout the hotel was pretty nasty. The carpet in the room was even worse. It may be a little thing, but it makes you question the overall quality of the place. If you're going for sea world, you can't get any closer. It’s literally right across the highway. The hotel provides shuttle service to and from so it's great. In the evenings they light the fire pits (there are several) for you to make s'mores and play a kid's movie outside. This for me was one of the highlights of the trip. Our 4 year old was in heaven. We all sat outside, he with his s'mores and the wife and I with a glass of wine. The pool is decent, nothing to write home about but was certainly good enough for our son. Bottom line, if you want a good deal at a place that is a little below par with respect to appearance, but great on service and location this is your spot. The check in process was lengthy and the customer service from all but one employee was lacking... teetering on blatantly rude. Michelle at the front desk was the only hospitable employee who was actually working. Room was clean, towels were delivered promptly after the call down, room service dinner was appetizing and hot. We were very impressed with the King Size bedroom, but it lacked a microwave. As for issues, we had a few. House keeping must not clean up the balconies, because we had empty beer cans on ours when we checked in, and the room below us had a dead bird on their balcony. Besides the possibility of spilling it in the pool and the alcoholic beverages being consumed around kids swimming in the pool, it clearly stated in the pool rules (posted on the wall by the pool) that no drinking or eating was permitted in the pool.
