Rooms need to be renovated. Bathroom tiles look dirty. They still have tube TVs!!!! One elevator was not working. For these reasons, this will not be my preferred choice in San Antonio. "Waste of money"
Arrived and was told they did not have a king size bed like i had reserved so i had to settle for queen size...a/c was messed up, it kept making weird noises....bath towels were stained!!! I would highly recommend staying here. The staff is right there to assist in anything you need. Just ask and you shall receive , Or he or she will find out for you! I loved the quaintness of this old hotel. They pool area is great. Rooms are a little small, but who spends time in there except to sleep. This is definitely more of a fun hotel and family friendly rather than the upscale romantic getaway type. They have great deals, a pretty good bartender, and a nice pool. Staff were friendly and helpful until check-out time. The room did have an odor that was hard to tolerate. Breakfast was great. On check-out morning called three times for luggage cart or some help to carry bags down. Then I had a problem was my vehicle. My vehicle was damaged while being parked by valet. Getting to the hotel to find out you bought a king bedroom ahead of time but they are sold out when you get there is irritating. Rules need to change. If I pay ahead for a King size bed, why not hold it for me?? You are going to charge me anyway if I don't show up!! If you're looking to stay on Riverwalk near the shops and restaurants, this is NOT your place. I accidentally booked the wrong Holiday Inn on Riverwalk. The other one is awesome. This one is at least a 15 minute walk from the nearest restaurant and the housekeeping leaves something to be desired. We made reservations well in advance of our trip and double-checked to make sure we had river view rooms with kings beds. Our room faced the street and we were given 2 double beds.
