"Too far from downtown river walk"

"Not the best."

"Totally Tiny Rooms"
First of all, the staff was great and very attentive, helpful with money saving tips during our stay and knowledgeable about the attractions. The breakfast daily was more than our expectation and had everything we could want. The overall hotel vibe reminded me of a 70s film taped in tropical location though. We were about a 20 minute walk from the Alamo […] so the exciting part of the riverwalk was only about a 15 minute walk. However, as a romantic anniversary get away I thought the luxury aspect was lacking. The rooms were tiny, dated, and did not even have flat screen TVs. There was plenty of hot water for long showers, but the bathroom like the room was tiny. If you like space you will not be pleased. We probably would not stay again as a first choice. "worst stay ever"
it was nothing like what was visually shown on the website. The rooms were tiny and had no ammenities. the view of construction was horrindous. There were homeless people sleeping around the hotel and we had to pay to park in an unsecured parking lot on hotel grounds. the breakfast buffet was unedible. "Long weekend getaway."
For the price, you can’t beat it. It was a little dated, but nothing that made us shriek. The bed was comfy, the shower was HOT and the breakfast filled us up. t's right on the river walk, just not near all the restaurants. I would suggest getting snacks(if you like things in your room) because there is nothing nearby. We did have to switch rooms due […] to ours not locking. It was a hassle getting it figured out. It was during switch change and the night ppl had no clue what we were talking about. We did get a king room (like I paid for) but they kept trying to put us in a room with 2 beds. We were not very happy. This should not be a 3 star hotel. It was not clean, Beds were lumpy and uncomfortable. Rate of hotel was not adequate to its presentation on the web site. The location is just a little to far from the riverwalk. The room they had us on was on the second floor, the only room without access to the pool on that floor, There was a sliding glass door, but it was screwed shut. Everytime someone would open or close a door close to our room, the screwed shut door would rattle, loud, all night long. Hotel service was awesome but the air condition rattled all night long. The wall paper was in poor condition and peeling. The room was so small I had about 7 inches between the foot of the bed and the dresser. The bathroom had black mold growing in the shower and the toilet was about an inch off the wall on the left hand side. So you had to sit to the […] right to use the restroom. This is an older hotel that has had money poured into it to bring it up to an attractive, excellent value standard. Everything on the Riverwalk is expensive, but this is only a few blocks off, is beautifully decorated like a tropical resort inside. The pictures on the internet are extremely deceiving. It wasn't in the best neighborhood at all. Yes, its on the Riverwalk but its a "long stroll" to the activities. Great hotel - older but well maintained. Long walk to the room as the layout of the hotel involves lots of long hallways, but that wasn't an issue for us. Easy access to the quiet end of Riverwalk and not a bad walk to the more lively end.
