"No Hot Water"
Late April for 5 nights, Arrived Sunday afternoon with wife for Vacation/Conference at hotel. Rate included Breakfast $10 per/day, parking extra $18/night. An attendee paid $9 by calling hotel directly. Check-in OK but no hot water. Called front desk said it was being worked on sorry for inconvenience. No hot water Monday morning. Still working on it. […] I asked why we were not told during check-in. No explanation. Of course if they had told customers during check-in some would have gone elsewhere. I said if I had been them I would have offered a couple of drink coupons for inconvenience. They gave me two coupons. Hot water finally arrived Tuesday evening (48 hours after check-in). "Handy for trolley service to Riverwalk"
Fairly clean, but there were papers and pizza crust behind nightstand. May not have noticed, but phone didn't work, so we checked cord behind nightstand. Also, no phone book, hotel info or TV info in the room. TV was new and hadn't been programmed yet, so maint man came and fixed phone and TV. Shade on one lamp was broken, but not really a big problem. […] Desk forgot our wakeup call on last day and would not have made it to the airport except for our cell phone alarm. "Awesome hospitality"
The only negative thing I could think of is I wish there would have a fridge and microwave in the room. Besides that, the employees were super friendly. Every room had a balcony and the site was beautiful. The riverwalk was right across the street and a gorgeous site to see. Loved the breakfast every morning. "6 blocks away from most of 'main riverwalk'"
I was worried about being so far away from the other hotels but there was a trolly pick up just out in front of the hotel for only $1.10 that would drive you right to the Main Riverwalk plus Market Square or the Alamo. A very clean north end of the Riverwalk ran along the East Side of the hotel. There was a big outside and inside patio that faced the […] Riverwalk. The Xmas floats came up to our hotel but only to let the cast off and turn around. It would have been an ideal place to watch the floats--too bad. I did the last minute reservation but thought this hotel was close to riverwalk and Alama, instead it takes 15 mins. to get to the attractions. It looked old and needs repair. Kids had a blast in the pool and looking for the animals everyday. Not your typical Holiday Inn. We felt very comfortable and relaxed in the lobby, pool, cafe, and in the room. The first room we stayed in was very cramped, tv was broken, the walls were dingy and wallpaper was coming off. After talking with front desk they upgraded my room with a balcony view and it was 100 times better. Spacious, great beds, and amazing pool area. Never will stay there again and would not recommend to anyone. The air conditioner was like a window unit placed on the inside. It ran all night and never cycled on and off. Apparently they did not have an abundance of hand towels because both nights I was there I had to ask for them. The day I checked in there was 1 hand towel and I went down to the […] desk to ask for additional. The clerk asked if I need about 3 and I said yes. The housekeeper brought 1 face towel and 1 hand towel an hour after asking. The second night after having been at Sea World all day, I came in and was ready to give my daughter a bath and there were no face or hand towels, only bath size towels. I again had to go down to the front desk and request them. I received 2 face and 2 hand towels at 9:00pm that felt as though they had just come out of the dryer.
