"great downtown location"

Overall, I was very satisfied and would stay again. Front desk staff was very helpful, breakfast was adequate and I was thrilled that there were good quality banannas daily, which is a very rare find at hotel breakfast buffets. The room was roomy and the bed comfortable. The upholstry on some of the furniture was dirty and stained, which is not uncommon […] in big, budget friendly hotels. Our room did not get serviced for the last three days of our six night stay. Upon arrival, we noticed that the shower curtain was too short and initially received extra towels to mop up the water. A longer shower curtain was installed after two nights. It was an easy walk to The Market and we ate at Mi Tierra and their bakery quite a bit, as they are open 24/7. It took about 15 minutes to get either downtown or to the King William neighborhood, but was not a bad walk, especially if you go down Chavez aroung 3 blocks and take the extension of the River Walk. In addition, the bus stop for the Trolley is right outside the hotel. P.S. Try downtown's Zinc Bar and Grill's happy hour from 3-7 M-F for 1/2 drinks and appetizers! Quick check in....Staff was alright but not memorable. Continental breakfast had only 1 hot item that you had to make yourself. The rest was the usual cold items....not memorable either. "Almost right for my family"
We booked this hotel for a fall break trip around Texas for myself, my wife, and our teenage son. The highs: the hotel itself was decent, the king + sofabed room was expansive, and breakfast was just fine. No additional charge for parking, versus $10-15/day for parking inside the riverwalk loop. The lows: It is still a 15 minute walk through an area […] of town with literally burned out and abandoned buildings to get to the touristy part of the riverwalk. We booked this hotel based on being more affordable than the ones in the riveralk loop, but ended up spending a lot less time in the riverwalk area since it was a significant amount of walking for my wife & son with the 85 degree and very high humidity weather. As others have mentioned the elevator is a talking point. We were on the 6th floor, so taking the stairs was a pain, but the elevator was so slow that one person could hit the button while the others in the room finished getting their things together. The others would still get to the elevator in time to wait a minute or so for it to arrive. In 50+ hotel stays in the past few years, I cannot think of a slower elevator. "Close to all downtown attractions"
We enjoyed our stay. The hotel staff were very nice and accomodating. We did run into some issues.
