"Close to Riverwalk lights"
Should have been told that the hotel lounge and restaurant would be completely shut down the evening of 11/23/12 fo the river parade. "Excellent stay but no housekeeping?"
My husband and I enjoyed our beautiful, river view room with balcony. The hotel was lovely and concierge/front desk/valet were all wonderful! Our Thanksgiving meal on the river walk at Zocca Restaurant was superb. However, no one bothered to clean or even tidy up our room on Thanksgiving day. "Ok but will never do it again"
I first everything was great, however, they don't tell you how much a night it cost to valet. That was a shocker at the end of the stay. We get to our room and all looked good so far, until I went to wash my hands. There was no hot water coming out of the faucet. Then I took a shower, which had warm water, but no blow dryer to dry my hair with afterwards. […] Also, no ice bucket in the room. When my husband went to tell them these issues they just looked at him and said sorry. He asked for a ice bucket and they told him where it was (in the dresser) in the room. He explained that I looked and there was nothing and they acted put out because they had to go find one. Then when we got the car on the last day, it had a huge drip stain on the hood, where it had rained the night before and something from the garage leaked on the car. We had a wonderful stay. However we were woken up at 2:30 in the morning by a blarring loud noise and a voice on the intercom that we needed to evcuate at once.We grabbed our wallet and purse. Come to find out it was a mad guest because someone wouldn't let him in their room so he pulled the fire alarm. "Nice hotel"
The hotel itself was very nice, location was perfect to everything going on dowtown. The only thing I would say is that my room was not what I expected, I was given a hadicap accesiable room so I didnt get the tub experience and running water was running everywhere, cause shower had no barrier. I've stayed at several Riverwalk hotels - this is certainly a nice one. For the area, the rooms are large (compared to the Hyatt Grand i.e.). Everything seemed clean. "The Westin on the Riverwalk in San Antonio- Great!"
We stayed at the Westin for one night. We got a discounted king balcony room overlooking the river. The discount made it worth it, for full price I think it would be a little too expensive for what it was. Everything was beautiful and clean. The staff were amazing, kind and very helpful. They went above and beyond to help us, and answer any questions. […] Also it was nice that after we checked out at noon we were able to leave our car in valet and our luggage in storage all afternoon. That made everything so simple. The location is WONDERFUL. We enjoyed having a relaxed and quiet breakfast right on the riverwalk in the restaurant downstairs. It is located on a quiet natural area of the river. I enjoyed the location of the Westin Riverwalk. Labor Day weekend was a very busy place in San Antonio, so it was nice our hotel was just outside of the busy part of the Riverwalk. They messed up our rooms the first night but they made it for it 10 fold the next night. Beautiful room, wonderful breakfast buffet, nice pool. "Poor Service"
I had to wait about an hour and call three different times just to get a safety pin, after about an hour after my check in. I kept getting complaints from an annoying neighbor even when i was not in my room.I did NOT AT ALL recieve ANY room service even after requesting it at check in. I had to call to get trash bags delivered so i can clean up my own […] room. When i called for the trash bags i had to wait 30 min and call twice for them to come up. Then on the day of my check out, i had to call twice for them to bring me a cart and laundry bags, and it also took them about 30 min. ( i can understand the cart took a while because many more people were checking out) The balcony was VERY small and only about two people can stand on it at a time.
