I had booked this hotel online, when I arrived to the hotel they had no rooms ready for me. A guy then came up beside me and said "I am in need of a hotel room." the woman said ok we have a room on the 12 floor available right now we can get you in and off he went while I waited 45 minuts for a room to become available. "Hate this hotel, won't stay here again!"
I won't go to this hotel in the future. I was so mad when we checked-in. This hotel does not care about their customers at all and the staffs in the front desk are perfunctory. We reserved a room faces the riverwalk, with 2 bed and patio. We even called the hotel ahead in the morning of the day we arrived to make sure they keep our room and set our […] request. Someone in the front desk promised we will get what we want. However, when we arrived, we found they arranged us to a room not facing the river. We back to the front desk to ask for change, but the stuff said they are running out of the room facing the river! They only can give us the city-side room ( which is cheaper and not what I paid for! ). After negotiation, they upgrade our room to a suite (which is still facing the city side), and gave us 2 free breakfasts. BUT, the staff in the front desk gave us the wrong room number and wrong key!! We went up and down for 5 times to check our room number and change the key!! They wasted us more than one hour in the check-in thing!! The next morning, we went to the hotel's restaurant and choose the seat outside to have our breakfast. Those outside seats are just beneath the patio of some rooms. In the middle of the breakfast, someone SPIT at our table from the upper patio! It was really disgusting. Honestly, there is a man (I remember he's the leader of security department) who is nice and help us a lot. But except for him, this hotel is definitely terrible!! "Not a good New Years at the Westin!"
We stayed 1 night at the Westin, New Year's eve. I understand it was busy...but our experience was awful! The only ones that had their act together at the Westin were the valet guys! Check-in is at 3:00 pm...we did not get into our room until 4:30!!! They said it "wasn't ready yet, come back in an hour, we will hold your luggae (we had one bag) in a […] room." Fine....we went on the River Walk, had beer, killed time, went back, and yes, our room was ready, but they couldn't find our ONE piece of luggage! They told to wait on the side (so they could check other unhappy people in) and they would look for it. After 30 minutes of standing there and fuming, my husband went in to the luggage room, and guess what?? There it was!! Wow, this is a 4-5 star hotel, and the service was crap. "The accounting is a mess"
We just return from spending the weekend in this hotels. The rooms are nice but the way the hotel charges is messy. "Poor Service"
I had to wait about an hour and call three different times just to get a safety pin, after about an hour after my check in. I kept getting complaints from an annoying neighbor even when i was not in my room.I did NOT AT ALL recieve ANY room service even after requesting it at check in. I had to call to get trash bags delivered so i can clean up my own […] room. When i called for the trash bags i had to wait 30 min and call twice for them to come up. Then on the day of my check out, i had to call twice for them to bring me a cart and laundry bags, and it also took them about 30 min. ( i can understand the cart took a while because many more people were checking out) The balcony was VERY small and only about two people can stand on it at a time. "Not worth price"
Parking-self parking lot right across the hotel was full (two lots) and unable to find any near by self parking lot and ended up paying for very pricey valet service. Hotel was very unhelpful trying to find you a parking out.... Riverside Balcony Room-paid extra for balcony that had nothing. Not even a chair to seat down and enjoy the view. When they […] tell you you will have view of riverwalk, forget about it. If you end up staying above 7th floor, you can't enjoy any of the riverside view anyway. Also Balcony is constructed in such way that it looks very unstable and unsafe. I would not recommend anybody to go out side of balcony.. "Christmas Wonderland at the Westin"
Living in Houston, I have been to San Antonio many times but never during Christmas. This was by far one of my favorite vacations with my husband, which says a lot knowing that we have been to many places outside of Texas. It was almost magical, there were Christmas lights everywhere and Christmas carolers riding in the riverboats singing my favorite […] holiday tunes. There was a program at the outdoor theater on the riverwalk and a nearby church choir was singing Christmas music and the entire audience was given a candle. You could feel the holiday spirit in the air, the weather was perfect, the food was yummy and the hotel was excellent! I could not have asked for a better mini-vacation!
