Pleasantly surprised that the in-room refrigerator was actually full-sized instead of the small ones that fit under the counter. We were able to buy groceries and fit them in the refrigerator to save money on meals. Everything was very clean and spacious (we stayed in a room on the first floor). "close to downtown without the expensive prices"
there were a few issues with our stay....1st was we booked a 2 king bed with sofa sleeper and we were placed in a single king bed with sofa sleeper. That was corrected after my wife had to prove to the front desk that we paid for was the 2 king beds. which we almost didnt get because they didnt have any more available. 2nd issue was the screaming kids […] running up and down the hallway when people are trying to go to sleep. we didnt report this issue because the time management would get to 3rd floor the kids were no longer doing it. 3rd was parking lot is too small for the amount of business they do. they had wonderful staff, from the front desk to the ladies that cleaned the rooms. would we stay again if we go back to San Antonio, the answer is yes we would go back to this hotel again. Everything was great.. From the service to the rooms. Only issue i faced was that since i didnt have a car, it does tend to be a wee bit inconvenient to go to downtown. and the vicinity does seem a bit shady in the night. Very nice room and very nice hotel staff. The breakfast was good. The location was not very nice but it was not a bad neghborhood, it is just a little outside downtown, so not walkable but less than 5 min of drive. The hotel had the best housekeeping staff that I have seen in our 7 years of travel. I always see housekeeping who is in rush to clean the […] room and want you out of the room at the earliest possible. Here the housekeeping staff were very courteous and let us have the time to get the kids ready and move out of our room without knocking again and again. At breakfast also, they refilled everything without having to ask and even let the breakfast run later than 10 am. Even after 10am they asked us multiple times before removing everything. "More than you would expect for the money"
The room was very large - had a king bed and a pull out sofa. There was a big screen tv, also. The service was phenominal, all of the employees were very helpful and extremely friendly. Breakfast was exactly as I'd expect, and the Texas-shaped waffles were a nice touch. The location was, at best, ok. It took about 10 minutes to get to market square […] and about 20-25 to get to the Alamo by foot. This is fine during the day, but I would feel uncomfortable walking along the dark road on S.
