First morning of my 2 day stay housekeeper asked if I needed anything, I told her, " yes, I need towels, there is 4 of us staying". She leaves 2 towels. I again told her I need 4 towels. Then I asked if she could do the beds. She said, " oh! So u don't need service?" I said I need my beds done, she again said, " so no service?". Overrated and not worth the price. Valet service was abysmal, Internet access required a surcharge and TV service was intermittent and very limited without extra payment. On a positive note the location and surrounding area was great.

Decided to take the kids on a Pre Christmas weekend to San Antonio. Best choice ever!! The hotel staff was super courteous and friendly. The valet staff was amazing :) I will definately be back again next year to do it again.The views from our balconies were beautiful with all the christmas lights on the riverin full view.

The subject says it all. Great location - walkable to the river walk - but staff that seemed they had a gun put to their head to smile. And even then they managed only a grimace. If you ask for something in the room, be prepared to wait for a long while. They had ports and jacks next to the TV to attach a laptop to them but when I asked for a cable […] for that, they had to send an "engineer" who came up after an hour only to tell me they did not have a VGA cable and the HDMI cable they had was not standard. This was not a big deal and I would not have totally expected them to have one, but the general sense of surliness and unpreparedness permeated the entire hotel staff. I had a PC conference to attend and needed a hotel close so I didn't have to drive. The pics for the hotel were awesome and so was the rate for the type of stay. The only negatives were that the food at Ibiza, eatery downstairs, was a bit over priced for the quality and service. My stay at the Hilton Palacio del Rio was very satisfactory. The gentleman that checked me in was very courteous and apologetic for the noise being made by the hotel renovations. Noise was not a bother as I was attending a conference and by the time I got back, all was quiet. Loved the hotel location, just across from the convention center and right […] on the River Walk. The only negative thing I have to say is the charge for valet parking - $35.00 a day - which is not advertised on their website as a daily rate. Overall it was a good experience and I will stay at the Hilton Palacio del Rio, but will park my car at a different parking garage where I know I'll be paying an $8.00 daily rate. Read more

The location was ideal for the conference I was attending, as well as to Riverwalk restaurants and the Alamo (which I haven't seen in 43 years - now it has walls and a roof). The customer service, from housekeeping to concierge to room service (kudos to Pilar) to food/bar staff, was just outstanding. Now for the bad news - the air condition leaked onto […] the carpet, the mattress was soft and sagged, I was disturbed by construction noise during the day, and the room badly in need of updating. Good news - the hotel is currently in the process of remodeling and updating (the construction noise I heard) and should have a different look in about a year. I went up to the 20th floor (I was on the 9th) and you would not have known you were in the same hotel - stunning changes. On the riverwalk, across from Convention Center & other convention hotels. The building is older but quite nice--top floors under renovation. Not a relaxing spa-like environment (small pool, tiny exercise room, few amenities), but fine if you're primarily coming there to sleep.

The hotel was just across the street from the convention center and about a block from the Marriiott which makes is a great location. You are away from work and yet close enough to run across when you don't have much time. You can enjoy a long run/walk on the river-walk in the mornings away from the crowd. The only thing downside is the facft that it […] is quite noisy especially on Friday night and the train that passes by frequently is quite annoying. Otherwise the hotel is beautiful, the rooms are large and the beds are extremely confortable. The Staffs are very courteous and my room cleaner, Maria was one of the nicest. The room was basically fine. It had a nice balcony which overlooked the city. The bathroom was clean and well stocked. The bed was extremely uncomfortable. The mattress sagged a lot to the point my wife and I felt like we were in a sink hole. This was odd since the hotel had literature explaining how proud they were of their "custom selected" bedding […] and how good it was. Other than the poor bed, the room was nice, clean and everything in the room worked. Including the HD TV. The cost of the parking was $22 and valet was $35/night. This was exorbitant in my opinion. It is a little old for a Hilton and that just may be the fact that it is in San Antonio. Surely a Hilton has a coffee in the lobby first thing in the morning? I was told to go down to the restaurant in the basement, where there was coffee being served. Very clean! Pool needed some type of shade area. It was on the 5th floor and there was a lot of concrete and nothing to devert the heat or to get away from the sun.
