"Not so good"
This is a motel, not a hotel. For the price, you would think you would be getting something better. There is a window air conditioner above the door. The hotel is loud. It's dirty, smells funny. The desk inside of the room about fell over when I set my laptop on it. There is nothing good about this hotel. "not bad but...."
Overall rooms were not bad but on my last night my new neighbors showed up at 11:00pm with a small loud child and a yapping puppy. I realized at that time how thin the walls were. "Good, but ..........."
Stayed here twice, and the same young woman at the front desk has been a disaster both times. The first trip, she gave us keys to a room that was ALREADY OCCUPIED. The people in that room (and ourselves) were fairly surprised and frustrated with that. Second trip, we asked her for help with someplace for pizza delivery. She asked if she could call us […] right back with that info. NEVER CALLED BACK. And the AC units are VERY loud. "Old motel trying to be a hotel"
My room was clean, but old. Pillows smelled musty. AC unit only semi-controlled by thermostat -- had to stand up on chair to adjust between Fan Only and Low Cool; low cool meant the thing turned on and off, which was plenty jarring to wake me up, so I switched it back to Fan Only. "Nice Stay"
The beds were comfortable, TV in our room was a little outdated, they had a breakfast, but it cost $5 whereas other hotels you'd get that for free. I would stay here again if we happened to be in Eugene, got a great deal on hotels.com saved a lot of money! The general feel of the hotel is that it's clean but has definitely seen quite few travelers. The room amenities seemed to show their wear and were in need of updating. "Decent place, decent price"
This hotel was decent for the price. The bed was not the most comfortable (a little hard), but everyone has different preferences. The room was clean, however there was a little bit of a musty smell. The air conditioner was loud and I had to turn it off in order to sleep. "Disappointed"
I had read several glowing reviews of the Eugene Red Lion and fully expected a positive experience while I was there. Unfortunately, the first night I did not sleep at all due to a very loud party that was taking place in the room next door. Though I contacted the front desk in the early evening, the party continued until at least 4 a.m. I understand […] this is a college town, but I didn't expect that would mean that I would not be able to sleep in a room I paid for. I would have appreciated the hotel staff stepping in and handling the situation, which they did not do. When I notified the front desk clerk the next morning she seemed completely disinterested in what I had to say, though I did receive an email from the hotel manager offering to compensate me for my troubles. I was not after compensation...I just wanted to sleep. My second night went more smoothly. The beds were comfortable; the carpet was filthy. "Stay away"
The room smelled of disinfectant which was not pleasant. Our room was by the pool area and guests were using the hot tub all night long making lots of noise. Despite 3 phone calls by us to the front desk complaining about the noise they were making, they continued to stay. Too many shady and vagrant types around the hotel, which is a motel actually […] so not very safe. We paid in advance for 4 nights on expedia and it was so bad there that we checked out 2 days early and stayed somewhere else. It was worth paying the extra money to get out. Also when I checked my credit card statement later, they charged a bar bill to my room which I did not make. They did credit me after I called and complained. Stay somewhere else. "OK for a Quick Overnight"
This hotel is very conveniently located right off the highway and very close to Autzen Statium. It's also right across the street from a new strip mall with restaurants (PF Chang's) and shopping. However, it also meant that you could hear highway noise from inside the room. The property has a motel-feel to it (all the rooms are accessed from the outside) […] but appears to have been remodeled recently and was very clean. The check-in staff was very friendly.
