Approaching the Thunderbird Motel is off-putting but it's actually a nice little place. Our room had some nice remodeling and the bed was comfortable. The guy at the front desk was very polite and helpful.

Looks a bit shabby on outside but our room was nice inside, *Very* clean, the Carrier a/c unit cooled down room very quickly with NO funky smell, not a spec of mold on 2nd floor. BUT was told by staff that first floor tended to be moldy because of the close proximity to the sea. Fluffy pillows, clean sheets, carpet didn't have a funky feeling to it, […] lighting was fine for reading etc. Water pressure was fine, plenty of hot water, shower is one solid bath/shower unit with NO sign of mold. Vending machines on first floor, cable TV, sink outside toilet/shower area. Wireless internet w/o password with good signal. Did see a Papa John's delivery car in the parking lot. Dunkin Donuts and some eating places not far, a new Starbucks and McDonalds are about 7 min west from the hotel as is the shopping mall. Pool looked ok but we didn't check it out close-up. There was even a hair dryer on the wall but NO elevator though there aren't many steps (about 12) to 2nd floor. All in all, one of the better economy hotels/motels we have stayed at in our month long journey across the US from west coast to east coast. Would stay there again and would recommend to friends if they can get a 2nd floor room. If you have a tiny dog you can call and ask if they will accept it but they had a bad experience with a bigger dog eating the carpet and chewing up a room so they don't advertise as pet friendly and seemed like they wouldn't take anything bigger than 10 lbs or so. I needed an inexpensive place to "sleep" while at a family reunion. This hotel only had two checkmarks, but it should have had more! The hotel appearance was old compared to others on Cape Cod, but my room was very clean and adequately supplied. It served it's purpose without being overly expensive in a busy resort area!!

I was pleasantly surprised and very pleased. We were catering an event not far from the hotel and I booked three rooms for the staff. The hotel rooms were spacious, very clean and well kept. The manager/owner was considerate and helpful. Location quite good. All in all a good experience. I wouldn't hesitate booking there again.

First, let me say that this is just a motel and all the motels on the Cape in the summer are waaaay overpriced for what you get. That being said, I was pleasantly surprised on the the seemingly brand new room and bathroom. It is clean, really comfortable beds, quiet and attractive... if not reasonably priced. The night shift employee was very nice. Stayed up past midnite to wait for us as we came in one day earlier. Very helpful in directions. The day shift was equally helpful for giving maps and mapping out ditection for us. I just wished we had microwave and refrigerator in the room. I would definitely go back there given the opportunity..

Nice. Very basic rooms. Nothing special to brag about but a safe ,clean, quiet place to sleep and that's all we needed it for. Cheap rates! Def worth the money, its a steal! Front desk help was very friendly it took 2 minutes to check in and 2 min to check out.

Just stayed at the Thunderbird for a quick overnight and found it to be very pleasant. Check in was quick and easy (even with our 10pm arrival). Rooms were clean and comfortable. For the price it was excellent.

For the very low price listed for The Thunderbird, I was expecting a basic, no frills motel, but it is actually a bit better than that. The hotel accepts small dogs, which is a big plus because we traveled with mine. There's a large property, a nice sized indoor pool, and a very basic free breakfast. The owner was helpful about local attractions. The […] room was fine--clean, large enough; a micro fridge and flat screen would have been nice, but for the price, I cannot complain. first off i was there many yrs ago before they re did the rooms .They are cleaner but our room had some issues .Mostley in the bathroom the toilet didnt flush real good the handle was all but falling off the back of the toilet was broken and the wall under the toilet had a hole and what looked like rust yrs ago when i stayed there they had small fridges […] in each room, well ours did not and we were counting on it to keep stuff cold so we had to make several trips out. also there used to be more pools there now just the one .I was looking forwardto using the pool side jacuzzi but it was not flled or even working it had yellow tape around it so all in all the rooms may be repainted but actually considering they actually took stuff away it was somewhat dissapointing. The location is great close to every thing and the bed super comfy .Like i said you get what you pay for .its a clean inexpesive room. Read more

The place was good to go to sleep at night. The pool had too much chlorine, my 3 kids complained all night of how bad their eyes bothered. The breakfast cereal was soggy and the bagels where hard. Room we stayed in was newly renovated with new carpet, linens, furniture, paint, sink and more. No smell issues, and everything worked properly. Easy access to area locations. The only issue we had was the neighboring hotel had several "party animals" which were loud all night, but we doubt that would always be a problem and the Thunderbird can't control […] issues at adjacent properties. Here's the deal- For the price, the Thunderbird is good stuff. I've now stayed there twice while house-hunting on the Cape. For a place to sleep, and your not looking for a resort, the Thunderbird is perfect. Clean, decently convenient, can't complain. I've never had the breakfast, although I've been told it was there. Never been in the pool, but again, […] it's right there. I've never been bothered by noise, or anything really at this place. It is not a luxury hotel, and it has had it's share of remodeling, but again, for the price, it is hard to beat. To address some things I've read- No, they do not have flat panel TV's, they have perfectly working CRT (tube) TV's with Cable, I don't see the issue(?). While I've read of confusion about breakfast (they have it/they don't), they have offered it to me both time's I've gone, however, I've always been out and about and done my own thing for breakfast. All in all, in my opinion, if your looking for a place to sleep and drop your stuff, it's a fine place. Read more

hotel was close to town of hyannis-good easy to access all major roads-good comfort- bed was great and pillows were really great , for one that has a back and neck problem.
