Spent Sunday night here and left Monday first thing. Surprised to see the hotel charges you in advance with no notice for service of the in room safe. Only noticed on the small label on safe as I was brushing my teeth that you could request a refund of the charge upon checkout. A guest not using and therefore not seeing notice would not get the refund […] for a service not requested or used. Fitted sheets on the king size bed not attached right so all night the sheets were uncomfortably bunched up and I was sleeping on mattress pad. The two-queen room is spacious, and has all the basics, but can't really be called comfortable. The mattress was okay but the pillows had no loft to them at all. There was a small round table and just a single chair, and no electric outlet nearby for charging a laptop -- fortunately I always travel with an extension cord. The WiFi signal was strong […] but bandwidth was so limited that it could not handle more than one browser window open at a time. Upon walking in the room the first time I notice some trash behind the dresser, dryed soap in the shower, frosted ice cubes in the freezer and the room had a bit of a smell to it. There is a sign in the indoor pool that states they open from 7am--9pm, however when I went to the office at 9:05am and asked when they are going to unlock the doors so we […] can use the pool the person behind the desk said over the last 8 years they always open at 9am and will do me a favor and open the pool for me. As far as everything else, they keep the outside clean, breakfast was available and keep the breakfast room clean and the most part people worked there were nice. The room was tight. I had to ask for and never received towels, I only had 2 for the night for both my husband and myself. The next day I had one wash cloth to share with him. The sheets weren't suppose to be on a king size bed, they were made for a smaller bed. We will not stay there again. The pictures online were not at all like the rooms we stayed in. The sheets were dirty, a large spot on the sheets. The carpets were not vacuumed well, especially along the walls. There was mold on the walls and shower curtain in the bathroom and the window screen was popped out when we arrived and the window was open. […] The room came with breakfast, which was a loaf of bread, bagels, cereal and a jar of jelly, very disappointing. Looks like they are trying to clean it up a bit. Ceiling freshly painted, door painted, but lighting was very poor, too dim and the toilet seat was broken and had been taped together. Overall it was fairly clean, just stuffy and was your basic on a budget place to stay.

Pros: - Immediate service (even though they seemed to have 2-3 people working in the whole hotel. They literally ran to your room as soon as you called for something. - Pools was a lot of fun, although the Indoor pool was not well maintained. - Location was near plenty of Mini-Golf courses and great restaurants (even your local fast food places) Cons: - […] The room SMELLED SOOOOO BAD! I had to call the front desk while pinching my nose shut the whole time. They did come and spray some Citrus fragranced de-odorizer or something, but it wasn't a big help. - Beds were really uncomfortable - Almost ran out of parking spots - Their breakfast looks like they stole it from a homeless shelter. When I asked them if the milk was 2% or whole, the front desk responded "I don't know".... That's never a good sign.. Reasonable prices but old facility, not really upgraded recently. Bathroom not very clean, towels stained. Ok for short stay and sleeping only; you would not want to spend free time there. Breakfast very very minimal and you need to get there early; by 10am sharp, it is all gone, which is not great for week-end stay.

This hotel was nothing special. The comforter had burns in about 5 different spots. The room had a moldy smell. If you're on the 1st floor, it sounds like a herd of elephants upstairs. The breakfast was a frozen bagel or toast or an oatmeal packet. The orange juice tasted like TANG. The coffee was weaker than weak. The towels were rough and very thin. […] The address given on this website is not recognized on a GPS. The parking lot was not swept for the entire two nights we stayed here. The hotel had a grimy and dirty look to it. There is not HBO or Showtime. Okay, here are the pluses. The staff were very pleasant and helpful with us. We had to switch rooms due to an overwhelming mold smell in our room. They put us into another room which was less moldy. They also gave us the fresh towels and new lightbuld(not working upon check-in) which we requested. There is ample parking. There is cable tv and there is WIFI connection in the room. There are indoor and outdoor pools. The location is fairly close to Cape Cod attractions. I recommend going on line and checking for condo rentals. There are plenty of condo available. You just need to search. For the same money it is better to get a condo. Read more

The hotel itself was what I expected. I was just expecting two beds and a bathroom. Upon walking in, the second bed had its covers all of the place. Looked like someone had just woken up. The bathroom looked barely cleaned. Not caring about it, and only needing one bed, I put the "Do Not Disturb" tag on the outside of the door. I went out for the evening, […] and upon coming back, someone had been in the room. The bed was finally made. However, I specifically said "DO NOT DISTURB." I don't know if they did not see the tag, or just ignored it. All I know is that someone came into the room that I was paying for, more my things around and left. We often stay in budget hotels, so we don't expect a lot of amenities or extras, however, we were extremely disappointed in the room we were given on arrival. We were supposed to have a non-smoking room, but there was no sign on the door and the room smelled upon entering. We were told the sign had fallen off but there was no evidence of there ever […] being a sign on the door. The decor was hideous, wallpaper peeling, carpet had bumps, the beds were tipped up so your feet were higher than your head, the cable tv didn't work, the phone not only didn't work, but it was detached, and when we moved the night stand to check out why the phone didn't work there was old pizza crust, a tube container and other garbage behind it and under the bed. There was an old spill on the wall by the bed that looked like caked on soda or wine which hadn't been cleaned. We were given another room, but our welcome to that room was an old ice cream stain running down the front door. The new room was passable inside, but we certainly didn't want to spend too much time in it. The continental breakfast was bare bones (not even cream cheese for the plain bagels), same cereal every day with what tasted like powdered milk, that neither of our kids liked, and there wasn't enough room to even make your coffee without bumping into someone.The hotel staff were quite nice, and the pool area was ok, but there really wasn't anything else redeeming about the hotel itself. The location was great, close to everything, but there are a lot of budget hotels in this area, so next time we will stay elsewhere. Read more

I was amazed at this Howard Johnson for the condiditon we experienced in Cape Cod. First we were given a room which we had to switch out because the minute we opened the door, the stinch of a smoker greeted us. On top of that, the toilet was broken and there was dirty towels. Traveling with 2 children, we could not stay in that room even if they came […] and fixed everything. Because I booked this online and was instantly charged, I decided to just switch to another room which was somewhat better. We still had dirty towels hanging in the bathroom, but the front desk was quick in resolving that and tired of seeing my face. We ended up staying just the one night, didn't care to eat the continental breakfast the next morning, and focused on checking out. The children in the room above us sounded like they would come through the roof at any point. I absolutely would not stay here again, just not the hotel experience we are used to. Read more

The smell of mold in the room and on the sheets, dirty floor leaving dark stains on your feet, broken insect screen in the window, broken hair blower, 2 old towels in the room for 4 ppl, miserable breakfast (milk, cereal, toast) remind me of the thirty dollar motel I once stayed in SC. I would pay $30-40 for this room. I stayed in a spectacular hotel […] in DC for less money. We did not want to come back to the room. Upon arrival and after hauling up my two bags, I get to my room and my room keys/cards do not work. During the am breakfast, I poured myself a cup of coffee and juice, I put them down on my table, I went to toast a bagel, turn around, and my juice and coffee are gone - the "student" threw them away. Nice. Choice of breakfast items was poor, nothing […] really healthy. Tables were not wiped down. After my first long day in Cape Cod, I return to my room only to find my key/card doesn't work AGAIN. Toilet in room was substandard (had to hold lever down the whole time in order to get a full flush). Carpets were stained, room smelled very musty. One positive note, the clerk who checked me in was VERY helpful with questions I had about the area. Unfortunately, I would not stay at this location again. Lots of improvement needed. Read more

Hotel is in need of a major renovation. We were surprised, in that the season is upon us and the hotel was in need of help. Morning breakfast was very sparce and our checkout was nonexistant at 7:45 am. Front office service was very good and helpful on directions and places to eat.

I thought because this was a Howard Johnson it would be a rather generic hotel. Our room smelled musty and the carpet and bedding were humid/moist. The shower curtain was mouldy. Internet was really slow and the attendants could not answer questions because they spoke little English. Not impressed!
