"Comfortable Hotel great value"
For the price, this is a great value in the Anchorage area. It is by no means a 4 star hotel, but a great diamond in the rough. The hotel staff is extremely helpful and knowledgeable which was a plus, since this was our first visit to AK. Our room had a funny smell to it that never went away, but it was clean. Because of the age of the hotel it is not […] very insulated. The night we got there it was windy and cold, and this was made apparent by the small snowdrifts on the INSIDE of the window, as well as the whistling through the walls and windows. The continental breakfast included at this hotel was amazing! Well stocked, great tasting, fgood choices, clean area, etc. That alone saved us 15 dollars a day in food costs. The woman running it was friendly. The internet was horribly disapointing. We could not get a signal in our room strong enough to do basic internet tasks. We had to take our laptops to the lobby to get any sort of good connection. The lobby is beautiful and comfortable. There is ample parking in their parking lot and overall, it was a great experience. the location is definitely further than most hotels in downtown..but still walkable. room was decent..but i did notice stains on the carpet and bathroom sink. nothing too icky..but noticeable. there was no fan in the bathroom so all the heat from hot showers would be trapped inside. showers were really weird..hard to adjust to the right temperature. […] plus, i felt it was a really small shower, in a narrow sense. i had to step up to the shower..almost as if it were a stage. it wasn't the best shower i had. breakfast was amazing!! do it yourself waffles with strawberry preserves, whipped cream, syrup and butter. hard boiled eggs, yogurt, variety of juices and cereals, muffins, toast..and warm SAUSAGE GRAVY with biscuits!! the breakfast room was well kept, roomy, and had a lady always there to restock everything. would definitely come back just for the breakfast! Great hotel for it's location and the price we paid. Would recommed it too others. I would also stay there again. Nice comfy beds as well as very clean room on the inside and outside.
