"5 blocks from the 5th Ave mall"
Parking is poor, only 10 spaces are adjacent to the hotel. The front desk lady is rude and very unhelpful. The room had gummy bears on the floor and the microwave would not work if the refrigerator was on. "Run Away"
When we first pulled up there were about 5 what looked like homeless or very rough people standing in the courtyard area. We felt very unsafe going in and out of the hotel especially at night. When we entered the lady at the front desk was not friendly. The hallway smelled like poop and the walls were very thin and we could hear the people in the room […] next to us, that"s all I'll say about that. "BEWARE! Domestic fights and drunks will await you"
We checked into this hotel around 9 pm. As we pulled in, the interior courtyard and parking lot was full of loiters smoking, drinking, and hanging out on the upper balconies with unsupervised children. As we made our way to our room, we were on edge with the 'clientele', the dirty carpets, and worn down facilities. Before 11:30 pm, two extremely loud […] domestic disturbances occurred in the courtyard/parking lot. "Days Inn Anchorage"
We reserved 2 queen suites at this hotel for two reasons--shuttle service to airport and train, and for breakfast at the hotel. When we arrived at the train station at 10:45 p.m.. I called the hotel to arrange a shuttle. I was told that the shuttle would arrive to pick us up in less than 15 minutes. When I called 30 minutes later, asking where the shuttle […] was, the person said oh, give him another five minutes. The hotel is 6 blocks from the train station. When we asked where breakfast was located, the receptionist told us that they didn't have breakfast, even though the website said that they did. She said that they hadn't in a while. The hotel was situated in several buildings, and the building that our rooms were in did not have an elevator, so my elderly parents had to walk up three flights of stairs. The receptionist did have the shuttle driver help us with the bags, and also provided a storage area for the bags we didn't need. The rooms were very out-dated and it seemed dirty, although the bed was clean. The courtyard, where all the buildings of the hotel faced, was very noisy, especially when we were trying to go to sleep at midnight. Our family of 4 stayed at Days Inn two nights at the beginning and 2 nights at the end of our Alaska trip. It was perfect for our needs. Close enough to all the downtown sights and activities to walk. Anchorage Museum very close and extremely interesting. Lots of restaurants in downtown area. Hotel was clean. We were a family of four on a vacation, and we booked the room with 2 Queen Beds. The comfort and condition of the room was good enough for us; the room was spacious, the beds were sufficiently large for two adults to share, there was air-conditioning, microwave, refrigerator, hair dryer. Some of the rooms have cable TV too. There was a vending machine […] at every lift lobby which sells really cheap and handy snacks. Not a bad location too, though not right smack in the middle of downtown like the Hilton (c'mon its the Hilton), but its just about one street to the mall and a couple more to the heart of downtown and the Visitor's Centre.
