We were expecting a lot of cold weather so we chose this hotel because of the restaurants within the hotel. The location was excellent and enjoyed the... close parking garage. We ate at all 4 restaurants and the service and food was great. Our room had a view of Cook Inlet and that was excellent. Really enjoyed the view. I just wish Fletchers was open at noon to have a place to watch TV and get out of the room in the afternoon. by a Hotels.com guest on 10/24/12

The Hotel Captain Cook in Anchorage, Alaska is a landmark property located just six miles from Ted Stevens Anchorage International Airport. Egan Convention Center and the scenic Tony Knowles Coastal Trail are three blocks from the hotel's prime downtown location. The Alaska Experience Theater and Alaska Center for the Performing Arts are two blocks away.

Built in 1965, this hotel offers meeting rooms that range from a 288 square-foot library with fireplace and window views to a 9,000 square-foot ballroom. The 24-hour business center offers three work stations with computers and leather executive chairs. Other amenities include complimentary wireless Internet access. Printers, a photocopier and a fax machine are available for an additional fee. The onsite health club features an indoor pool and spa tub, racquetball court, women's and men's workout areas, sauna, massage rooms and group exercise classes. Magnificent city and mountain views are integral to the Crow's Nest's appeal. This renowned dining establishment commands a position on the twentieth floor and is famous for its sophisticated New American cuisine. Fourteen lobby-level shops sell European-made clothing and Alaskan artwork. The hotel also provides currency exchange, luggage storage, and tour assistance.

The Crow's Nest - Restaurant and bar situated atop Tower 3 on the 20th floor, with superb views of downtown, Cook's Inlet, and the Chugach Mountains. Offering a sophisticated blend of French and New American cuisine and a 10,000-bottle wine cellar, including the Chef's daily five-course tasting menu, each course paired with a different wine. Anchorage's only AAA-four-diamond restaurant. Reservations recommended. Serves dinner; closed Sunday and Monday during winter.

Fletchers - Fletcher’s Restaurant offers gourmet pizza, fresh pasta dishes and seafood specialties in an English pub-style setting. Named for Fletcher Christian, the man behind the historic mutiny on the Bounty, the seafaring ambiance extends to such local delights as Alaskan Halibut Piccata, accompanied by a local, micro-brewed beer, wines by the glass or cognac. Serves lunch and dinner.

Whale's Tail Bistro and Wine Bar - Radically new and innovative, this option presents 32 wines to choose from, in a way you have never experienced before. Discover Alaska's first self-serve wine dispensing system. Cozy up to the fire with friends, or swing by the bar for Kobe beef sliders and a martini. Serves dinner. Closed on Sundays and Mondays.

The Pantry - Located in the main lobby, The Pantry is our indoor sidewalk café featuring a delightful selection of American cuisine for breakfast. For lunch you can enjoy local favorites such as chowder or fresh fish.

The Tony Knowles Trail is located within walking distance of the hotel. This paved 11-mile trail traces the Anchorage coastline down to Kincaid Park.
