Our stay in the Washington, D.C. area was made all the more pleasant by having the Hilton Garden Inn Silver Spring North to return to each night after... sight-seeing all day. Our weary backs enjoyed the cleanliness and comfort of the hot massaging showers and our feet were grateful for the comfy beds to kick back on to watch a bit of t.v. or read before turning in. I slept better the first night here than I EVER have on vacation. The staff was exceptional in their friendliness and service. There were tons of dining choices nearby. We knew we would be doing a lot of walking in D.C. and were looking forward to relaxing in the hot tub or pool at the end of the day. This hotel is about 5 minutes outside of downtown Silver Spring but makes up for the inconvenience with lower rates, cleaner rooms, a breakfast bar and several fast food chains a few steps away.

We stayed the weekend of Thanksgiving and were impressed by everything about this hotel. Clean, comfortable rooms, free wifi (a must), breakfast buffet (not included), and chilled lemon water and cookies in the lobby. Our room only had a shower so if a bathtub is a must inquire ahead of time. We'll come back next year.

Free parking. Room keys had to be recoded daily, sometimes multiple times per day (many rooms had this issue). Jacuzzi built for one. Pool 'max' is 7. Staff often not at desk, especially after midnight. Don't bother signing form at check in to get 75 cents credit daily if you don't take the paper - paper is free and they won't credit you even if you […] sign what they ask you to. Fridge replaced as it smelled like it was burning (more than once). Walls are thin (noise from other room tvs comes through clearly). Shampoo not replaced when empty. Breakfast ($12) staff very slow/disappeared when it came time to get the check. Read more

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Hilton. We do not travel that much nor do we stay in hotels but this hotel was very nice, clean and the staff was very friendly. The pool was a tad small but we did really enjoy the dip after a tour of Washington. We were just visiting DC shortly for a Caps game with my son. Good location outside Washington as we left in the morning heading north. We didn't have to face the DC morning traffic. The hotel is nice and clean. The service at the reception was good.
