I've stayed at this hotel twice and have no complaints. Never saw any bugs, staff was friendly, good value for what I paid and metro is a quick bike ride away to get into DC. Not the greatest neighborhood but I didn't see or hear anything shady going on even biking back in the wee hours of the morning. The roo was adequate, nothing more. The staff greets you from behind a plexiglass shield; all transactions are handlede via a tray under the window. The heating system is forced air, and not easily adjusted. The walkway outside the door was in poor repair and at the end of the walk were areas of broken cement.

Everything went fine - aside from some minor things in the room (ex: alarm clock not functioning properly), it was just what we needed before we hit DC the following day. The front desk attendant was excellent!

The internet was out all day and when it finally came back on at 10pm the router nearest me needed rebooting but they said "only the maintenance person can do that". We had no problems with the room despite some negative reviews. The worst thing I could comment on would be the shortage of parking, but at least there was free parking. The building is older and could use a makeover, but there is nothing wrong with it and for the price was a good value. We weren't there to visit the hotel.

My stay is not ideally what I thought. The parking lot was way too small and if you don't get there in time you will not have parking. The room was clean and about as comfortable as I would expect. Very good for the price. Big problem was the AC unit leaked into the room. Had mainteneance come up after 1st night and they said it was fixed. By next morning 1/3 of the room was so soaked you had to put on your shoes to go to that side of the room. i was veryt disappointed in my stay. The fridge froze everything. The outlets had wires sticking out of them and the plugs kept shorting and lamps going off and on. We had to ask for 4 large towels and 4 washcloths(four adults in room) and still never got them. The first night, the sheets smelled musty, which made it clear to me that they were not put fresh that day. The second night I could tell that they were changed, but the coffee maker didn't work. Also the towels were too thin and not fresh smelling. TV had bad reception. Getting to my room, I noticed that the outside hallways could have been cleaner […] and needed a new coat of paint. When we arrived to check-in we were helped by a pleasant desk clerk; however he was behind a protective anti-theft window, which was not a welcoming feature. We had booked a non-smoking room. The hallway wreaked so heavily of smoke and air freshener that it was choking. Our room was the same. The light blocking curtain did not fully cover the window […] area, so the orange glow of mercury vapor lights engulfed the head portion of one of the beds. There was absolutely no noise insulation between rooms so we got virtually no sleep. In the neighboring room there were 2 men who spent the entire night talking, ranting, yelling, arguing, and banging. When we left at 7:30 am they were still at it. I booked thru Expedia. I read many bad reviews after booking this room for my husband. Oops... So, I just told him to be prepared and that he might need to have extra socks and his own pillow & sheets. He was pleasantly surprised. He received a room with new carpet and he said his room was clean. The front desk staff was courteous. The room was quiet. I was not expecting much as far as breakfast and size of the room since I was going to see family. I didnt expect the condition of the tub and toilet paper holder. A good price for the area BUT parking is terrible, Towels are in short supply carpet is strangely damp (beds are comfortable) The worst is the outdoor metal stairs--up to 3 floor climb and very slipery in the rain. Not for the faint of heart.

The room smelled like mold. The carpet was damp and dirty, which was probably the cause. The ceiling had mold growing on it. This place was very inexpensive for being near Washington, DC. Given the condition of the room I would have paid more to stay in a cleaner room somewhere else.
