"Must visit for pet owners!"
I have stayed at 5 star resorts in various locations (all of which were MUCH more expensive than this establishment); but have rarely had a better experience than our stay at Best Western. We have two dogs and a 5 year old boy. The staff was courteous and the rooms were freshly updated. The best part is the pet friendly nature. This is a nice hotel in a convenient location - about 5 minutes from downtown Asheville. The staff was friendly and the maintenance folks helped us promptly when we told them the heating unit didn't work. "Disappointed in Asheville!"
Although the room was clean and recently updated, the beds were stiff and creaky and the pillows were thin and flat making it an uncomfortable night's sleep. I think it's a stretch to call the meal offered a "breakfast" as it wasn't much more than a fancy continental breakfast with lots of instant selections and biscuits so dry and overheated they could […] be used as hockey pucks. "Good Stay for family"
This was a no frills hotel, but was very clean and comfortable. The facilities had evidentily been recently remodeled and were in good shape. The rooms were very spacious for my wife and I and our two sons. The free breakfast was very good with several hot items and good choice. Could have used more fresh fruit. There was always open seating even though […] the hotel was almost full the whole time we were there. The only drawback was the hazzard of getting in and out of the hotel as it was ackwardly situated on a major highway. You were only a few hundred feet from a major highway interchange with limited visibility. If you did get safely out of the hotel, being right at the intersection of major highways made it easy to get around the city. "A decent place to stay!"
We'd never stayed at a Best Western before but based on the reviews we thought we'd take a chance! For the most part, this was a good hotel. It was bedbug free as expected (we check the bedbug registry every time we book travel), and the room was spacious and clean. The only issue we had was that the room had a mild dampness to it - we tried to figure […] out the problem, and never could. It wasn't so bad that it ruined our stay - we really only used the room to sleep in. The kids enjoyed spending a few hours in the well-kept pool. The breakfast was typical hotel fare. As for the hotel location, it was right next to a very major road/highway, so traffic was heavy - but at night it slowed down enough that it didn't bother our sleep. Our room was the closest to the road - I would assume that a room on the backside of the building would have been much quieter. Great value for the money. I stayed and paid much more for lot less. This place looked somewhat updated, but extremely clean. We did not expect it to be this clean. "Pleased"
It was an older hotel that appeared to be recently remodeled. Nothing fancy, but the room was a decent size (not all rooms have spa tubs btw) and was very clean. "Nice stay and good for the wallet"
This hotel was very clean and easy to get to. It's close to restaurants and stores in the area. Biltmore was only a 5 minute drive! The breakfast was good but the area was a bit crowded. The only 2 drawbacks were: we had a non smoking room and for some reason our bathroom smelled like smoke. We told the front desk and they were very apologetic and reported […] the issue. The one other minor thing was that our bathroom door didn't close properly. So no major complaints here! A very nice, convenient, clean and budget friendl hotel! "Wanted to like it"
After reading all of the positive reviews was all ready for great value property - not so. Three things put me off this hotel - first the walls are paper thin! There was a very whiney toddler in the room next door who seemed like she had moved in with us for the duration. Next, the shower wasn't great - pressure wasn't good and you had to hit a 'sweet […] spot' on the knob to get anything more than lukewarm water. Finally, file we never ate breakfast in the hotel during our stay and, when I walked in to check out I realized we probably wouldn't have if we'd wanted to as the very small area was jam packed with hardly room to move much less eat.
