"Needs maintenance"
The room was upgraded with the new wood floor, but was it. The bathroom was terrible. It had peeling paint and did not have an exhaust fan. There were not enough outlets and the outcovers were either broken or missing. We had 2 double beds and 1 day housekeeping made one bed but not the other. When we arrived they gave us a room and when we went to the room it looked like someone was staying in it, there was garbage in the pail and its looked like someone went to the bathroom and did not flush and the towels were used. The check-in clerk proudly proclaimed that my room was recently renovated. I was excited to see the room. Wow!!! I'd hate to see the condition of the room prior to the "renovations." "Great location for a 2 star hotel....."
The only thing we enjoyed about this hotel was the location to downtown. Hotel is old. The water preasure in the shower was terrible. Musty smell. 16 channels on TV. Not sure why. Did not bother to complain. Best breakfast in town? I would disagree with that. The staff could not keep up with the breakfast items leaving a lot of the food bins empty. Free Breakfast was better than any I have had. Bed was comfortable. Bathroom was rather small and in rough shape. Last day no hot water. "Outdated and Tired"
Days Inn is usually a pretty safe bet but in this case the hotel rooms were very outdated and not very comfortable. The pillows we removed from the couch has cigarette burns in the and we were in a non-smoking room. The sheets didn't fit the beds and they were only double beds. The sink was very slow draining and we had to call for clean towels upon […] arrival as the ones in the room were stained. I would suggest that the ownership invest in some updates to this property as the location was decent and the breakfast buffet was really good -- but the overall experience was tainted by the condition of the room. "A tired property they've tried to fix up"
Staff was nice but walls were thin, shower pipes sang and hot/cold water was hard to control. Coffee maker in room didn't work (they did replace it the day I mentioned it). "Should have known better at checkin....."
When I checked in and the couple in front of me was complaining and checking out I should have known there was going to be an issue. We flushed the toilet for the first time at 9pm that evening and it never stopped running, When maintenance arrived he said it was broken (thanks Captain Obvious) and gave us a screwdriver to turn the water on/off to flush. […] It didn't turn it completely off so we had to hear it run all night. The a/c unit was so loud that we woke up everytime it came on and rattled like a panel was loose. The bed felt that it was constructed of spings and then covered with t-shirt material without any padding. We asked for another room but there were none available under any room type. The ice machine on our floor was broken and the other was pouring water creating a fall hazard on the painted concrete. The breakfast was above average but due to the volume of guests they continually ran out and seating was minimal. I have no issues with Days Inn but this location was mediocre at best. This is a tired property that is nearing the end of its useful life. I'm not sure that just a renovation can save it. If you are looking for an updated, modern, feel-good hotel experience, this is probably not the location for you. The room was not clean the duvet was dirty with stains that clearly would have come off if laundered. After the maid clean the room the towels were not neatly folded as I am use to everything just seemed disheveled. Days Inn use to have higher standards in cleanliness clearly the maids are not given enough time or pay to clean the rooms sufficiently. My family chose this hotel primary due to previous great breakfast reviews. Albeit the breakfast buffet was larger than most other hotels, it definitely was not spectacular. The quality of food was mediocre and cold. The extended buffet is also only available on the weekend, then it is back to standard hotel breakfast during the week....
