"Shabby chic failure .. not worth what we paid!"
was really disappointed with this stay overall. The good .. the size of the rooms is great.. beds comfortable and The location was great. The staff were all very nice and attentiveThe bad .. the hotel is in some state of the slowest renavation I have ever experienced. The lobby is furnished with cheap furnishings and minimalist decor. I understand the […] urban look the hotel is going for is shabby chic but it comes off cheap and cheesy and is a Epic fail. This cheap and referbished look continues through out the hotel and rooms.The ULGY.. the place is dirty.. the halls are unvacumed and there was trash that remined unpicked up for over 3 nights. The stairwell smells like a homeless shelter and the parking garage had furniture, matresses, bed frames, lamps and Lots of Trash strewn around on every level. They also charge you $18 a day.. for the privilege of parking in the above decribed garage / homeless shelter. "Noisy, paper-thin walls, under construction"
This was the worst hotel I have stayed at in 30 years of business travel for noise from rooms on any side. Even normal conversation carried right through. "Remixing meant less services"
This aLoft is going through a renovation (remix) through April 15 which means refuel and xyz are closed. Those are ammeneties frequent alofters expect. Other than that it was top notch. When it's finished it will be awesome.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"diamond in the rough"
Overall the stay was satisfactory. We were disappointed, however, that there was construction being done and not everything was open. And as we were placed on a floor that was being worked on we were woken up by 7:00am daily with the sounds of construction workers. Our room still had things not completed, such as no closet hanging bar. When we arrived […] in the assigned room we found that there were still customers staying there and had to call down and be moved - a little disorganized at the front desk. We also did not realize that parking in the hotel garage was at an additional cost as that was not told us upon check in. "Room was amazing/Goten Restaurant was aweful."
I stayed in this hotel this week for business and was more than pleasantly surprised. The front desk folks were cordial but the all star was the room. Like a huge NYC loft, cool, but not "trying". Hardwood floors, spacious modern bathroom, great accoutrements in the bathroom etc. Great spacious desk with free wireless (fast) and plenty of outlets and […] usb ports. The only negative was Goten, the Japanese restaurant on site. The food was average at best with limited sushi and sashimi choices. The service was slow and horrific, the sushi chef was surly and the waiter was clearly a college kid who had no clue of the menu, the options, etc. I can't wait to go back to the hotel though and definitely where I will stay the next time I'm in Nashville. We ended up in Aloft because the hotel that we originally booked in was under major renovation which render uninhabitable. The staff was very friendly staff. The room need a little cosmetic upkeep. "Great new option in Music Row! Improve the GYM!!!"
Have read some reviews on here of guests not being totally overjoyed with the renovation of this property. I was on a business trip mid-January and the status of the renovation looked terrific. I was with 2 other colleagues, we all had great rooms. Amenities were very nice. The gym and fitness area could really use some work, though! They had 3 treadmills, […] a weird elliptical (that I didn't use but heard others complain about!) and a few free weights. They need to get this up to the quality of other ALoft properties.
