Located adjacent to the Grand Ole Opry, the Gaylord Opryland Resort and Convention Center in Nashville, Tenn., spans over 40 acres of running streams, cascading waterfalls, pedestrian bridges and 12 greenhouses. The hotel is adjacent to the General Jackson Showboat and across the street from the Opry Mills Mall.

Dining options include the Old Hickory Steakhouse that welcomes dinner guests, while the Cascades Restaurant specializes in seafood entrees and is open for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Libations are served in the Jack Daniel's saloon, Irish Pub, and a revolving atrium lounge. A staffed business center, event catering, complimentary high-speed Internet access and meeting space all accommodate special events and corporate functions.
This grand hotel features the European-designed Relache Spa, a 27,000-square-foot spa and fitness center that has an indoor/outdoor pool and 12 private treatment rooms, with unique services such as golf pedicures, mother-to-be massages, sunless tanning and salon extras designed just for children. Flatboats are provided for guests to float through the Delta gardens or listen poolside to DJs at the on-site radio station. The concierge desk books restaurant reservations and obtains show tickets. Airport shuttle (surcharge) is available at scheduled times.

Cascades Restaurant - Located in the Cascades garden, this restaurant specializes in fresh seafood selections, including Australian lobster tails and tiger shrimp. Wasabi's Sushi Bar is housed within the restaurant. Diners are surrounded by plants, trees, and waterfalls. All meals served.
Rachel's Buffet Restaurant - A more casual destination for diners, this restaurant features a breakfast buffet and lunchtime deli station. A dinner buffet includes meats, salads, pastas, and desserts.
Findley's Irish Pub - Findley's serves authentic Irish entrées such as Beef and Guinness Pie, and Fish and Chips. Live acoustic Celtic music begins most nights at 8 PM.
Rusty's Sports Bar & Grill - Several TV monitors, including a large video screen, broadcast sports events and other programming. The menu includes appetizers, salads, and sandwiches. Open from late morning until late evening.
Cascades Terrace Lounge - Surrounded by plants, flowers, and the waterfalls in the Cascades atrium, this revolving lounge makes one complete circle every hour. Open from late morning until late evening (closed Sundays).
Jack Daniel's Saloon - Featuring a decor of hardwoods, barrels, and Jack Daniel's memorabilia, this saloon serves drinks and snacks. Entertainment most nights. Open from early evening until after midnight.
The Delta Lounge - Located on the Delta Island, amid a fountain and 100-foot waterfalls, this lounge features live entertainment and dancing most evenings. Open from early evening until after midnight.
Delta Island Food Court - Housing Ben & Jerry's, Corky's Barbecue, Java Coast, and other quick-snack outlets.

Leisure activities at this Nashville resort include floating through the indoor Delta gardens on a flatboat, splashing in two outdoor pools, or watching DJs in action at the on-site radio station.

The hotel is nice for conventions because of the space. However, food choices were limited during the day because everyone went to lunch at the same time. Lines were backed up so far that people either had to skip lunch or miss an after lunch meeting. The resort fee and self parking fee are exorbitant! From a guest-relations view if I was Gaylord management I'd get this changed ASAP. "Mixed feelings!"
I find it very difficult to rate my stay at the Gaylord. i was staying for a convention, and stayed in a standard room. I am a seasoned traveller and I can honestly say that this is the most confusingly laid out hotel I've ever come across. It's blatantly clear that the hotel was initially built a certain size, and then extended, and then some more, […] and then even some more! It was utterly confusing, and by the 4th day I was really no closer to understanding the layout. With that being said, I cannot fault the hotel when it comes to service, cleanliness, and overall appearance. There are several decently priced restaurants on the premises, and a really large mall with an adequate food court next door. There are however absolutely no health stores in the vicinity, and anyone wanting basics such as fruit will have to make a massive trip to get this. Also, the hotel's location is very far from down town and as such, a cab will cost you $25 each way. "The hotel is a MAZE! Too confusing."
The hotel itself is huge - which may seem great because it has 15 restaurants, shops, etc. However, the layout of the hotel is WAY TOO CONFUSING. All hallways look alike. I had to use a map at every intersection, elevator, etc. I got lost every single time I left my room. Finding food source is hard enough when the hotel is a maze, then you get there […] to find the good is extremely overpriced for small portions. And the worst part is, you have no other options since even walking to the mall next door is a 20 minute adventure- if you can find your way out. I felt like a mouse stuck in a trap but easily distracted by shiny objects- in this case its the indoor garden atrium. But really, do you really need a hotel this big? The place is amazing and I loved being able to walk everywhere and find surprises around every corner. I did not find it difficult to navigate the place at all. It's logical. Ridiculous price for average rooms. Many parts of the hotel are gorgeous, but it is impossible to navigate with suitcase in tow. Have to walk a mile to get anywhere. "Amazing, romantic, fun place to stay"
Opryland is an amazing resort. It is attached to the convention center, and all 800,000 square feet are under an enclosed atrium, so we didn't ever have to deal with the oppressive heat while going from our rooms to the convention center or restaurants. The restaurants were outstanding, really fine food. It's obvious that the staff at this resort enjoys […] their job, and that translates into excellent customer service.
