"Poor service"
Poor service. Did not honor the room type reservation made through hotels.com. will never stay again.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Very disapointed about the hidden cost of parking 20 a day and resort fee 18 dollars for 2 hot waters and a wifi that didnt work very well.had to walk long ways from car to room.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
The room was nice enough however, the room has only two small bars of soap, when the room was cleaned the next day the did not leave any more soap. This really bothered me considering the price of the room. The service at every resturaunt in the hotel was terrible. The food was way over priced and was very poor in quality. "Availability"
This was my second stay at Opryland resort in 4 months. On both occasions the room I booked was not available. The first time we were given complimentary dinner vouchers. On the recent stay, the booked room was not available, and they gave me a handcap room. Unacceptable for the visit. They eventually gave me a room that was not the booked room. Although […] it turned out to be a nice room, it was not what was booked. Needless to say, I will find a less expensive place to stay in Nashville area the next time I go there. "Over-rated!.."
Though this hotel was beautiful, I would not recommend it to any first-time visitor to Nashville. It's too far from downtown area and the hotel directory maps were a bit confusing and not very helpful. We didn't like getting lost just trying to get to various places within the resort. Also, we wished they had informed us that the indoor pool was closed […] for renovation, instead of discovering it for ourselves after walking the long hallways and corridors. "A Fiasco from the Get-Go"
Everything about this was unacceptable. From other people trying to access my room (it was double-booked) while I was in it, from being told that my room is "vacant" and waiting 10 minutes for the concierge to deign to speak to me. Add to that the billing issues and fact that this hotel doesn't tell you upfront that they HAVE NO reservation desk & I […] can GUARANTEE I'll never stay here again. I will never book by 3rd party again. When we arrived we were told due to full occupancy we would not get the room we paid for. We were 4 adults and they wanted to give us a room with a sofa bed. They had to bring in two uncomfortable rollaways and certainly not comfortable. Towels for 2 and a 1/2 roll of toilet paper. No pillows. Many calls to front […] desk. Certainly not up to Marriott standards I am a Marriott Elite member and I honestly wonder if I hadn't showed them my card if we would have even gotten a room. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Beware!"
Our stay at the resort was not at all what we expected. First, they were WAY too overpriced. I understand that it takes a lot to run the place but come on. Resort fee, parking fee, so on and so on. The rooms were just like any Holiday Inn you would go to. Nothing special. Also, the hotel does not allow food delivery so expect .21% service charge on […] room service. That's not including taxes and WAY overpriced food. On the plus side, the staff was very courteous. The plants and fountains are beautiful. But, you can see all of that without being a guest. My advice would be to stay across the street at the Inn at Opryland. Way cheaper and you can walk to the resort from there. I hope this helps someone to not make the mistake we made. "Not impressed for the price"
I was not impressed at all for the price. There were no hairdryers or coffe pots in the room. They do not put your floor number on your key and do not tell you that at the time of check-in. The prices of everything in the resort was extremely high. There was waiting in line for everything from check-in to just asking a question.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"decent hotel as long as they have a room for you"
This was our first stay at the Opryland Hotel. We booked our 2 night stay over a month in advance, and paid in full with Hotels.com. After arriving in Nashville and having dinner downtown, we made it to the hotel around 10:30 pm. The line to get near the entrance was probably over 50 cars deep, and 5 lanes wide. Once inside there were 50 or more guest […] trying to check in with only 3 hotel personel working. After waiting in line close to an hour I was told they did not have a room available. They had to send me as well as 50 other guests to other area hotels. I was informed that even though I had a paid reservation that their rooms are first come first serve. There were several elevators throughout the main buildings that were out of order, and most guest service employees seemed very confused with hotel operations. We were extremely disappointed with such an upscale, high dollar hotel. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"overpriced"
Beautiful hotel but way over priced. Valet service was a joke. What was supposed to be 15-20 minute wait after calling for your car was actually well over an hour. The food was subpar for the price you pay. We will not be staying again.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Disappointed"
The resort hotel caters solely to the business traveler with an expense account. The restaurants are overpriced and if you travel don't plan on being there on a Sunday. The rooms aren't cleaned until late in the day. The pool towels were piled high and there was no one insight. Would recommend a Monday-Saturday visit.Genuine Expedia guest review
"never again!"
let's see. first of all nothing was said on my reservation at all about $20 to park. we get to the room and immediately smell smoke in the hallway and also in the room. i figured someone down the hall was smoking and it would go away. we are then greeted by toenails, rose petals and a couple of pills in the floor. very nice clean job! the room was as […] plain as a motel 6, way overpriced. there is not a single place to place luggage for opening and it took us 3 days to find the coffee maker. the next morning we were awakened by the reek of smoke coming in the vents. we asked to be moved and they finally unwillingly but refused to upgrade. then to top it off, the entire wing had no elavators on saturday night. when i asked at the front desk where are the stairs we were told that we were not allowed to use them. it took us a 20 minute walk to get to our room as we had to go all the way to the other end of the hotel to start. oh and yes, it was crammed with camoflouged conventioneers. never again!!! plenty of nearby hotels that are much nicer and much less expensive Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"Save your money!!!"
This is a very over priced hotel to start with, then they tack on another $35 a day, $15 resort fee mandatory used or not and $20 for parking. Most hotels include these cost in the room rate. My suggestion is book a room at a near by hotel for half the price, pay the $20 parking fee at the Orpyland and have access to all the gardens and resturants for […] the day and evening. Also my wife wanted a soft drink, I tried venting machines on five floors and did not find one that would work. The venting machine on my floor was empty the two days of our stay. "Might go back to visit, but not to stay overnight."
The hotel itself was beautiful. A bit difficult to get to, but the Christmas decorations were spectacular. Here's my problem with it. My husband and I stayed the night for our 14th wedding anniversary, thinking "well the Opryland Hotel would be awesome!" Not so... Everything and I mean EVERYTHING was sooooo expensive. Not just the room, but food etc... […] My husband got up in the morning to go get coffee. $8 for 2 cups. There are no complimentary ANYTHINGS at this hotel except maybe a little bottle of shampoo, but who knows we probably got charged for that too. The worst part was the room. All night there was a constant extremely loud noise. We think it was the elevators. We were unable to sleep much at all. It was a loud whining robotic sounding noise (that's the best way I can describe it). We will not be going back unless it is to look at the decorations at Christmas time. I can guarantee we will not be staying overnight ever again. So glad to be home. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Bad Stay"
If by this review I can prevent these owners from getting the money of one potential guest I will be happy. First I reserved a room with a king bed. The room upon entry had two queens. When I infromed the front desk they said there were no kings available in this huge hotel and that they never guarantee that you would get what you reserved and to take […] it up with who you booked the trip with. After protest they found a room with a king directly over a noisy exhaust vent. Finally another suitable king was found. Front desk was very unhelpfull! Next way overpriced cup of take out coffeee? "Underwhelmed."
Expect hidden fees! I was charged a resort fee above and beyond what I paid when I booked my room. This was in spite of the fact that I had no plans to make use of the fitness room or pool. If you drive to this hotel, you will be required to pay for uncovered, self-parking when they have a huge outdoor lot with an overabundance of space. Valet parking […] is available, something I would have considered, but the outrageously long line of vehicles stacked outside of the hotel lobby/valet area make this a frustrating proposition if you plan on using your vehicle much during your stay. Keep in mind that everything in the hotel will cost at least double what it should for half the quality, but the remoteness and size of the hotel doesn't lend itself to dining out unless you go to the mall nearby. Expect confusion every step of the way until you've been there a while to get your bearings. It's very easy to get lost and there is very little guidance or assistance from staff unless you know what to ask and from whom. Lastly, although I booked a room with a king bed, upon arriving to my room, I found they had placed me in a room with two double beds and a view of the dumpsters. They did this without asking or telling me that the room type that I had reserved was being summarily ignored. It took at least a half hour of being on hold and waiting before I was finally moved to a room with a king bed as originally selected. In the future, I don't expect to ever stay here again.
