Overall the hotel was pretty nice. The location is great, which is reflected in the price. The bed was very comfy, but the room was quite small. The bathroom floor was a little bit dirty. Also, there is no fan in the bathroom, so when anyone showers the whole room fills up with steam. The hotel was nice but did not offer any free breakfeast or coffee in the main lobby. If you wanted anything to eat or drink it was quite pricy. They charge you $26.00 a day to park your car. Dane assisted us with our bags and very helpful and friendly. That goes with all of staff we came in comtact with. We stayed over a weekend and on sat night we had a room full of rowdy girls next to us who were yelling and screaming after they closed the bars. I was with my 4 yr old daughter and mother and while I can party with the best of them I would […] think they wouldn't have put these groups of girls next to a room with young child. We were awakw from 230 am until 340 am that night . Secondly I booked on hotels.com and seems we got a really small room (corner of ninth floor) which seemed really tight. "Nice hotel, needs a few updates"
Nice hotel and good location. Had a beautiful view from the corner room so 65% of the view was windows. Only problem is 1/3rd of the windows were foggy between the glass which cheapened the overall experience. The hotel is nice but feels a bit shabby. Double Tree Nashville is in a great location within 6 blocks of walking to Music Row. It looks like a very flashy hotel from the outside to the front desk. The front desk service was short and quite frankly, impersonal and snooty. They make you sign a slip and charge you $50 for "assumed" spending on your part in their hotel. The valet service is also […] charged which is not listed in the price. The valet service was the most friendly personnel they had. The room looks nice until you see the shoddy workmanship in the bathroom which is the size of a postage stamp. Was one of the most cramped bathrooms I have ever experienced in a hotel. The rest of the room is ok, nothing frilly. Be careful with their WIFI. My son used it and picked up a virus on his computer using their system. The highlights of the stay was the cookie, the valet parking and location. Would I return, perhaps due to location, but Double Tree is not the image it tries to show. The hotel was great! It was right in downtown Nashville. We were there for the 4th if July and were only 2 blocks away from the fireworks! Also only a 10 minute walk to the Country Music Hall of Fame and Grand grand ole opry. I stayed at the DoubleTree downtown Nashville as it was just a few blocks away from Bridgestone arena. I book a reasonable, but not cheap rate on Hotels.com because it was convenient. When I arrived and asked about my Hilton honors perks they said I would receive them because, I booked through an outside service. The hotel is nicely decorated. We arrived very late around midnight and were greeted with the aroma of fresh baked cookies which were given to us as check in. Delicious! We had a king room & the bed was very comfortable. The bathroom was very small, but nice. They could have taken a few feet from the large bedroom and added space to the bathroom. I'm not sure if the noise was coming from the hall or another room, but it kept waking me up....sounded like they running up & down the hall. "Bitter Sweet"
The hotel was very upscale at first appearance . Check in went smooth . It was when we got to our room that things started going down hill . After a long drive and a trip to the restroom , everyone found out that there was no exhaust fan in the restroom .It was quite embarrassing . I was handed the phone to leave a voice mail for the Director of rooms .After returning to our room I decided to take my two children to the indoor pool for a relaxing swim . After a couple of minutes I noticed something floating in the pool. Someone had relieved them self in the pool . I became so disgusted I almost threw up . After making a scene , they shut down the pool , comped my valet ,and moved us into a junior deluxe suite to shut me up . I do not blame the hotel for the pool incident . That was just a very disgusting patron of the hotel . The deluxe suite was a nice gesture but , even that room did not have an exhaust fan in the restroom . Check-in and hospitality was great. The room was great. The beds were very comfortable. If I had to be critical, there was1 small issue with the room. The toilet had an internal drip all the time, but since we were in a suite, there was an extra wall between the beds & the bathroom, so it did not bother us. Our daughter & her husband drove from another state to stay with us one night in Nashville. They had a new car that was parked by valet. When it was turned over to valet, it was noted that the car had zero scratches. Upon it's return to them, it was covered in scratches on the entire top of the car.... the hood, the roof, the trunk. I would not remcommend this hotel due to the lack of knowledge from the hotel desk staff. Our visit was during July 4th, but the staff did not even mention any events going on. When I asked where the concert was, they did not even have a map to direct me to the location. They only had a expensive restaurant list that did not include other close by restaurants. […] 3 of the staff could not tell me any restaurants nearby. So, we just went and decided to walk and venture for ourselves (a mom and 2 kids). Finally, at valet, we were given a shuttle where the driver took us somewhere. Finally, someone had a brain! There was no concierge on staff, just front desk help, which were only capable of giving a key and taking a credit card. As a former concierge, I was appauled!
