"excellent service"
The service here is excellent. We had booked a "Junior Suite." Upon arrival, we saw that the room did not meet our expectations of a "suite," meaning a separation between 2 spaces. This room was just a larger room. Traveling as a family of 5, we only rent suites. The manager, Josh, immediately made the situation right for us by finding a fair solution. […] I would suggest that the room description be changed. A "larger room" is not the same as a "suite" in the eyes of most travelers. The hotel was very clean, very convenient, and the staff was wonderful, but the description on the site is quite misleading. "Great Hotel -- Close to Bridgestone Arena"
Stayed one night for a concert at Bridgestone Arena ... Lots of places to eat closeby and walkable distance to the arena... Has a shuttle that will also take you 10 blocks in any direction but you might have to wait. Parking is a rip off... I couldn't control the temperature to comfortable level. Also, on my second day, the housekeeping staff didn't replenish my coffee supply. "Using the Hotel to Conference"
I was in the hotel for 5 days for a conference this month (Nov2012). The housekeeping was good - the rooms fairly nice but the hotel was very loud. The first night I was put right outside the elevators on the 9th floor - I asked to be moved and was, but the next couple of nights were dominated by complaints about the two rooms next to me that had "parties" […] going on all evening. Loud, loud, loud!!! It was unbelievable, although I put more responsibility on the rude women who were thoughtless about anyone else but themselves in these rooms - the hotel did not do an adequate job of quieting the guests. I would agree with older feedback that some of the front desk staff was surly. When I arrived - I was not greeted, but simply blankly asked "whats your name?" - not great for business. "Pre Paid Reservation Not Honored by Third Party"

As other reviewers have said (on tripadvisor), the condition of the room is not what you expect from a DoubleTree. The wallpaper was peeling in our room; the latch on the bathroom door didn't catch, so you could close the door, but not lock it; and there was a wierd stain on the bathroom door (which I thought was gross, but didn't bother my friends […] at all). The original check in was very polite and attentive. The room was a bit cramped for being a King Suite. We really are a little concerned over how well the rooms are really cleaned, as we found that our toilet paper roll was in place by a ball point pen and not the normal spring loaded rod. Desk Staff were not able to offer much in the way of help finding places. The breakfast food was the same as offered free at most Hiltons, but cost @$9. For the price, I would have expected more. "Close to all of the must see sights"
The extras' to the room that was on the listing was not up to par. Some of the items was not on the list and was told if we wanted them we would have to moved to another room. Trouble in departing regarding the amount due for parking of a motorcycle. The people at the desk in departing were rude and not to me but to others. The actual hotel (lobby, bar, restaraunt area) was very nice and let me be clear that the staff couldn't be more friendly, however, the rooms left a lot to be desired. There were six of us and we had 3 rooms in all. Every one of them had issues. Our room was small. The bathroom had zero counter space (not exaggerating...zero) so even laying your toothpaste […] and toothbrush down was impossible. Also, there wasn't a vent in the bathroom. Taking a shower was suffocating and the ceiling was completely bubbled from the humidity. Another couple had only one DOUBLE bed in their room. This room was shaped like a trangle and extremely hard to move around in. No mini-fridge, bar, complimetary water, etc. for any of us. "Look out for clean and functioning shower drains!"
We got this beautiful junior suite hotel room with our free night. The room was so spacious and the bed was very comfortable. The bathroom was so disappointing. The drain in the shower and in the sink kept getting clogged up. It was so gross that we didn't even shower there! We were already so settled in that it would have been a bigger pain to switch […] rooms than to just deal with no shower for the night.
