The historic Millennium Maxwell House Nashville, Tennessee, is smoke-free and positioned 1 mile south of the Nashville Convention Center. Located within 2 miles are the Country Music Hall of Fame, Gaylord Entertainment Center, and Frist Museum. Tennessee State University is nearby. "Possibly In Need Of Some Focus"
I first stayed at the Maxwell house back in 1988, and was really impressed with nearly every aspect of the hote. Unfortunately, with my most recent stay, I was a bit disappointed. For starters, the temperature control handles for both the sink and shower were loose, and required some extra effort to get things in balance. Also, heating/air-conditioning […] temperature control was less than optimal. Besides these failures, was frustrated me the most is that when I reported these issues to the front desk, there wasn't any urgency for getting them repaired, or even an apology for the inconvenience. The great thing about this hotel is that, although it's a bit out of Downtown, there's a free shuttle to and from the hotel to within a 5 mile radius. "Parking Disaster"
Hotel was great upon check in. Room was decent for the money. Beds were a bit dated and linens were dated as well. Parking was an absolute disaster. The hotel advertises free parking but rents the parking lot out to companies. There was a car convention the night of our stay. Hotel directed us to park in the alley behind the hotel. Very scary for family […] with children and felt unsafe leaving car in the alley. "convenient to downtown"
I have stayed with this hotel many many times. I have always been very satisfied with my stay. This time I was a bit disappointed in the room. It did not seem to be as neat and clean and we never received a refill on the shamooo, conditioner or body wash. "Nice value for what we paid"
Much nicer hotel than I expected for what we paid per night. The neighborhood is nice - there is a Starbucks across the street. There are housing projects and a homeless shelter across an interstate bridge about 2 miles from the hotel but they don't impact the hotel neighborhood. "Two Night Stay"
The main draw for this choice of hotel was price and location, followed by the fact it offered free parking. Stayed two nights. Hotel staff were adequate, room was clean and serviceable. No major issues. The shower (water pressure and shower head) were awesome. Downside was that internet was not free, there was a surcharge, but this is usually the case […] when staying at conference type hotels. They nickel and dime you for everything. "Clean but Noisy"
This hotel was okay. The lobby was very nice. The room was clean and the bed was comfortable. The walls were paper thin and we could hear drunk people all night long. People talking in the room next door sounded like they were in my room with me. I slept poorly. The reason we selected this hotel was the shuttle that would take you any where within a […] 5 mile radius. We loved that idea. We selected a restaurant to meet our siblings at that was close to the Vanderbilt campus--4.2 miles away according to google maps. The driver gave us a really hard time and almost refused to take us there, saying it was outside of his area. The next day, we complained to the front desk staff. Three staff were a part of this conversation. They asked where we had been trying to go and we told them. They said that that was more like 6 miles away and then one of the staff members literally said "GPS isn't all its cracked up to be." We were very unimpressed by the service of this encounter. If you want the shuttle to only go to Broadway and 5th, then that should be made clear. If you say the shuttle goes anywhere in a 5 mile radius, then it should actually do that.
