The Courtyard by Marriott King Kamehameha's Kona Beach Hotel is a tourist-class hotel located on the Big Island's Kona Coast and is 8 miles from Kona International Airport and 105 miles from the city of Hilo. This former king's residence overlooks Kamakahonu Bay and is within walking distance to Hulihee Palace, shops, and restaurants in Kailua-Kona town.

The great number of amenities, facilities and extras this hotel features makes it an enjoyable place to stay. The hotel's Kona Beach Restaurant won the 1999 Illima award for "Favorite Neighbor Island Hotel Restaurant." The restaurant is open for breakfast daily, and offers buffet dinners on selected evenings. Onsite luaus provide entertainment and authentic cuisine while Billfish Bar serves snacks and drinks, poolside. There is direct access to the beach, and a marina and numerous water-related activities are nearby.

The resort offers 460 air-conditioned rooms in two, six-story wings. Paintings on the walls depict the hotel site as it would have looked in King Kamehameha's time. Room amenities include refrigerators, coffeemakers with complimentary Kona coffee, flat-panel TVs, and complimentary wireless and wired high-speed Internet access.

Honu's on the Beach Restaurant - Faces the beach and the bay. Breakfast and Dinner served daily; dinner buffet of prime rib and seafood served Friday–Saturday only.
Billfish Bar - Located next to pool. Salads, sandwiches, and light fare served. Tropical drinks and appetizers served all day. Open from late morning through the evening.
Island Breeze Luau - Luau with Polynesian music and dance featured four times a week: every Sunday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday (schedule subject to change). Arts and crafts displays; torchlighting ceremony; arrival of the Royal Court on Kamakahonu Bay.

Kailua-Kona is the epicenter of shopping and recreation on Hawaii’s western shore. Big-game fishers delight off its waters, while shoppers reel in deals along Alii Drive. The Kailua-Kona area is a hiker’s paradise because many of its best beaches are accessible only by foot. Inland, the scent of coffee permeates the air as plantations harvest precious Kona beans. "Resort in name only"
This is a hotel calling itself a resort without any of the amenities and service of one. The location is good but the management is insincere, the security is invasive and the restaurant has bland and expensive food. Stay here for the location only and use it as a base to travel but don't pay full price. It just isn't worth it.
