Business convention brought me to downtown St. Paul at the River Center. With a number of boxes that needed to be hauled and a set up the night before and an early morning start, I looked for something convenient for the location. Parking is sort of funky but the location is fantastic, Casseta's down the street was a nice Italian deli with authentic taste and Kincaid's is within 6 blocks for upscale dining. Across the Street from the Excel Center. Wonderful location for Xcel Energy Center concert - security was doubled on the night of the concert and I never heard any disturbances - in fact it was quieter than my stays at other hotels that were not across the street from a concert venue (on "regular" nights). "Rest haven after surgery"
The staff and accommodations were very nice. The Housekeeper on the 4th floor for rm 411 on Aug 1st. at noon, was very kind to bring us the extra pillows we needed to make my husband comfortable after his surgery. He was especially grateful for the neck pillow. Good food, basic clean rooms and a wonderful view from the glass elevator made our overnight […] recovery most enjoyable. I loved the beds and the fitted sheets. We were very comfortable and enjoyed our stay. The only thing I was unhappy with was there was no Fox News on the T.V. Also I was charged $30.00 for parking. The rooms are in fine shape and the staff is quite friendly, but the "free" wireless internet access is completely unusable. Dropped connections and bandwidth literally at dial-up speeds or less makes this "free" connection useless.
