"Freezing night"
The hotel and room itself were great. The room was very clean and they bumped us up to an executive suite which was nice a big. However, the air conditioning in our room, and apparently other rooms, was broken. We didn't find out until we were trying to go to sleep and were freezing to death. The hotel advertised that they'd provide free WiFi internet service and the front desk lady said that no password was needed. There was NO internet service. Our room was reasonably large with 2 queen beds, but it had water stains on the wallpaper below the window and behind the table with the phone. The carpet seemed quite grimy too. The beds were clean (and appeared bug-free), but the shower head was very low (5 foot up, max) and the room door didn't close smoothly. "Bellingham hotel good restaurants near, but..."
hallways and rear entry very shabby. Two sleepless nights and complained of noise from upstairs guests but nothing was done. Breakfast average. So-so low cost hotel. I checked in close to midnight and the room was freezing cold. I turned the heat on high but it took several hours to get comfortable. At check in the guest service rep at the front desk was very kind and informative. The walls are paper thin and you can hear everything that goes on around you. we were visiting friends we hadn't seen in a long time so we were out late and when all the guests started getting up and out at around 6 a.m. it was extremely loud in our room. not to mention […] the maid started vacuuming the room next to ours before 8 a.m. Apparently another guest was just as annoyed as we were, because she asked the maid to please stop vacuuming so early in the morning. Apparently she didn't feel she needed to honor the wishes of the woman because it did not keep her from finishing her vacuuming in that room. and all the the others up until we decided we couldn't take it any longer. We checked out early and drove the 2 hours to get home just so we could finally get some rest. OK, the location was near an exit off the freeway, good location. But the hotel did not match my expectations of 2 1/2 stars. "Smelly and Scary"
When we checked into the room I had to sign and agreement that I would not smoke in the room and would pay a fine if I did and then our room was a smoking room. I just got back from two nights at this hotel and it appeared to be a bit shady upon arrival. There is a lot of long term residences in the building which unfortunately make the place look like "the projects." The picture on the website must be from 20+ years ago because it looks nothing like that in person. I must get the name of their photographer!! […] That said, the room was so/so and didn't appear to be overly clean and tidy. Is this what you would expect from a 2 star? Probably not...probably closer to a 1 star in my opinion.
