    Sandestin is an incredible place and all the amenities offered make it a top-choice destination. La Ciel is not the fanciest hotel I've ever stayed in,... but it was clean, comfortable, and for the most part, quiet. The only complaints that I have: a king-size bed was requested and we even called the hotel directly to make sure this was arranged. When we got there, they put us in a double-bed room and said that they didn't have any king beds available. After a little prodding and several hours, the front desk staff was able to make something work and put us in a nicer room with a king bed. Kudos to their customer service for that, but the ordeal was frustrating. Also, hotel maintenance was working in the room next to us very loudly, beginning at 8:00am. While I understand that they have a job to do, I was looking forward to sleeping in on my vacation but instead was woken by the sounds of drilling. All in all, this hotel is comparable to the likes of Best Western or Holiday Inn, but the location makes it excel. For the value, I would recommend La Ciel and plan to stay here again myself. by Brad  from Mobile, AL on 05/30/13

    Get Spooked (October 26-27, 2012) - From festive fall pumpkins and hayrides to a thrilling pirate-themed island trail, Sandestin will be the place to be for a spooktacular self-guided tour of Jolee Island this Halloween. Visitors will trick or treat to land marks along the island’s outer trails. At the locations, some sweet treats will be given for braving the dark and scary trails.     Sandestin features four award-winning golf courses and 15 tennis courts in hard and Hydrogrid clay. Tennis lessons can be arranged for guests. Complimentary amenities include two four-hour bicycle rentals and one-hour boogie board, canoe and kayak rentals. Four beach huts provide snacks, sundries, towel service, and beverages (surcharges).
    Sailing and fishing excursions can be arranged through the resort. Beach umbrellas, beach towels, and chairs are available for rental on a per day basis and include setup. Beachside activities include a mini-golf course (surcharges). Onsite water sports include parasailing, Jet Skiing, kayaking, and sailing.

    Vehicles not registered with Sandestin Owner Association are prohibited on resort premises. These include golf carts, motorcycles, motorized scooters, RVs, boat trailers, motor homes, campers, and buses. Special parking is available for motorcycles, RVs, and boat trailers. Spaces are available on a first-come, first-served basis.

    Please note: LeCiel units (standard rooms & studios) receive complimentary daily housekeeping. Village and Grand studios receive complimentary trash and towel housekeeping. Luau and Beachside studios receive trash and towel housekeeping for a fee. All 1 bedroom and larger units do not receive housekeeping service. A nonrefundable cleaning fee is charged, based on unit size.

    Sandestin is an incredible place and all the amenities offered make it a top-choice destination. La Ciel is not the fanciest hotel I've ever stayed in, but it was clean, comfortable, and for the most part, quiet. The only complaints that I have: a king-size bed was requested and we even called the hotel directly to make sure this was arranged. When […] we got there, they put us in a double-bed room and said that they didn't have any king beds available. After a little prodding and several hours, the front desk staff was able to make something work and put us in a nicer room with a king bed. Kudos to their customer service for that, but the ordeal was frustrating. Also, hotel maintenance was working in the room next to us very loudly, beginning at 8:00am. While I understand that they have a job to do, I was looking forward to sleeping in on my vacation but instead was woken by the sounds of drilling. All in all, this hotel is comparable to the likes of Best Western or Holiday Inn, but the location makes it excel. For the value, I would recommend La Ciel and plan to stay here again myself.     The hotel and stay was nice. But the resort fees were not mentioned, which increased the daily rate. If this was known up front, I may have chosen another hotel. There were no ice machines available. You could purchase bags, very poor.

    Booked 1 night. Checked in at 3, but couldn't get into the room until after 7:30, because it hadn't been cleaned yet, and had to check out by 11 the next morning. Not worth it considering the price. 400 for the room, 50 taxes and fees, 48 for the resort fee, and 60 for the cleaning fee. Would not stay here again. Ever.

    We stayed at the Pilot House.The room was very clean and spacious. We loved the fact that we are located right beside the village. Very convenient especially when you've been out all night having fun. There is private parking as well w/c was great. There is a tram that runs every half hour w/c takes you to certain points in the resort. There were a […] couple of things that were a little annoying w/ our stay. A big one was the advertised free wi-fi. THERE WAS NONE. All the wi-fi networks in range were all privately owned and required keys. In today's age, internet access is a pretty big deal. I had to run all the way to the business center just to check my e-mail and bank accounts. The room had a spacious balcony outside. Sadly, it gets pretty annoying when all you could hear is the noise coming from the cars and people entering the village. In the morning, its nice and quiet. Its a totally different story at night. There were some issues w/ a couple of the lamps in the room (not working or bulbs are dead). And my wife was pretty irritated when she found out that the hair dryer in the bathroom was also broke.     As a guest at this resort, you get 4 hours of free bike rentals for 2 each day, 1 hour of a rental of a canoe or kayak per day, has a real nice village of its own with lots of restaurants and shops.     The room was nice and clean, but there was a permeating smell throughout our entire stay. It could've been a smoking room in years past. However, this is no excuse to have such a consistent distinctive odor. Especially coming from an establishment that gives itself four stars. Other than that, it was nice, like an updated ramada inn.

    We stayed at the village. A very nice building and very close to their restaurants and night clubs complex. We could walk there. No worries about drinking and driving. All the bars and night clubs keep open until late late night. I left at 3am and there are still lots of people there. The live music was great.

    The room was very out dated. The lock on the door was broken and the air vent in thekitchen was broken as well. The bath tub in the bathroom was not clean. The front desk help up grade our room to a king size suite, but that room was not in the best condition either.

    Well ... We spend Labor day here ... And tropical storm lee ruin our beach plans ... So did mot help anything ... Not the resorts fault but we didn't spend much time outside our room. When we got there it was so confusing on where we should check in ... The the lady sent us to the other side of the resort when our room was right above her head ... We […] drove all over that resort ... Until finally we asked a security guard ... We were not happy when we found out we were in the right place. There is plenty of shopping to do here ... OMG ... Outlet mall ... Shopping galore ... We tried to find a seafood restaurant off the beach ... There really was not any ... We just wanted to at least enjoy the waves and eat seafood ... Not a place in site ... Except for Finz ... But that was way too expensive for us. Overall I got to relax and the rooms were very nice ... Our room had a mini fridge ... Microwave ... And a kitchen sink ... With real plates and silverware ... Which was a huge plus ... I do recommend it. Read more

    Staying in Bayside in is not the best part of the resort. The shuttle is never on time to take you anywhere, beach or restaurant, and the rooms were not that clean. You can hear everything your neighbors are doing and the cleaning service is awful. I would spend more to stay on the beach next time.
