The staff was great, even when I asked to switch rooms due to the proximity to the "smoking" rooms. They made the transition quick and painless, even helping with my bags. The restaurant on site is great and there are a number of other coffee and dining options within a few blocks.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"Not up to Hyatt standards."
We stayed at the Hyatt in Santa Rosa for one night. I was with my wife and son so 2 Queen beds were in order. My comforter on my sons bed sheets was dingy and dirty, almost gray in color, to prove the point he swatted the comforter with his hand and a cloud of dust was propelled into the air. Our sheets were not as dingy, both mattresses were badly […] worn and the next morning we all agreed it was like sleeping in a funnel since the middle of the mattress on both bed dipped down in the middle. Another negative was a $15 charge for wi-fi was excessive, Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"Great hotel, WiFi and restaurant not as great"
Hotel was great, was a little surprised at having to pay 10 bucks for in room WiFi. Front desk staff was very helpful with directions and suggestions on eating places. Recommend 3rd St Aleworks Brewery excellent beer and food. The restaurant attached/next door was pretty good but the menu choices were few. They had higher end type of food but I personally […] like basic comfort type food ( steak and eggs, omelettes, things like that). Would definitely stay again and recommend it to all types of travelers. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

"no free WIFI"
Had to pay extra for WIFI in the room; my husband and I often stay at 4 star hotels and most comp the WIFI; every hotel should, I personally, need that more then a TV. Build it into the rate just like the flat screen TV's and the nice bedding...Genuine Expedia guest review
"you could definitely do better"
this might be the ticket for you if you are into getting or truly want a kelp and cucumber concocted facial or one of those hot stone massages. did not have time to indulge in the spa but it looked rather inviting to my back and shoulders. the grounds were kept up to the point that every time i peered outside, the crew were constantly mowing or gardening […] something. the room was your generic hotel room, nothing out of the ordinary. bathroom was set at an angle into the wall so it made it a seem a tad more spacious but that could be an illusion. got a king size bed and it was really cozy and inviting and probably the saving grace of the room. the room contained no mini bar, a coffee machine with coffee mugs and two flavors of coffee but no coffee pot ......... so i had to make two calls to room service just to satiate whatever needs that were running through my stomach. the food was average at best which stemmed from a fairly mundane menu. it is too bad downtown santa rosa or railroad square does not have anything appealing enough to get out of bed for. if anything came out of this experience..... is that i discovered flying goat coffee just across the road from here. definitely worth the walk across third street just for a small cup or two Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Way overpriced for this town, this room."
Nothing fancy, in a nice little town. Reasonable at $150 or less. Not so much at over $200. As I write this I'm at the Radisson Fisherman's Wharf for about the same money.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"I would never stay here again!"
This was my first time staying at this hotel, and my first time at a Hyatt. First, the hotel is right across the street from downtown and close to 101, but those are the only bonuses. Upon arrival, the staff was not very friendly and did not show any warmth towards us as guests (which is in stark contrast to the great experience I recently had at a […] Hilton). The lobby of the hotel is large but not very pretty or inviting. Our room had two beds, and was very small with lackluster decor and no fridge. Two out of the three lights in the room did not work. The bathroom door was a sliding door and didn't close completely. Also, when we came back to the room after checking in and leaving for a brief period, there was a horrible smell that resembled dirty dishes or something else. It was so bad we had to open the windows and keep them open all night. Also, the neighborhood that the hotel is in is not that great. In all, I would not recommend this hotel to anyone and I probably will not stay at a Hyatt again unless I absolutely have no choice. Totally not worth the price. "Very Nice Hotel"
Although the hotel is older, it is in excellent condition, and the continental breakfast was excellent. Although there was not hot food, there was fresh fruit, yougart, hot and cold cereal, juices and a good seleciton of breads and muffins. The surrounding area on two sides was beautiful to look at, bay water, and open flatland/marsh-type area. Unfortunately, […] on the side between the hotel and the road (Highway 1), it was dirty and trashy. This pobably is not the hotel's property so there is little they can do about it, but I imagined it with green grass and it would have really updated the surrounding area. Our room was beautiful, looking out towards the pool, and surrounded with green grass and trees. There were, however some rooms that opened directly onto the parking lot, and I would have been a most unhappy camper to have been staying in one of them. It was a great location - on Highway 1, and adjacent to the 101 freeway, relatively close to the beach as well as the golden Gate Bridge. For our needs, the Lakspur was PERFECT. They even had bicycles available (with helmets) for riding in the area, which is very flat, unless one chooses to go up into the hills, which surround Mill Valley. THANKS for the stay. "Really Nice Boutique-ish Hotel"
Staff was exceptionally friendly & helpful, & the hotel itself is decorated tastefully. Great coffee/breakfast bar in the lobby in the morning which converts to a regular bar in the afternoon. Nice looking restaurant on site (which I didn't try) called the Brasserie. My hotel room was roomy & very clean & clerk was very accomodating when I asked for […] a room nearest the pool & spa & extra towels, delivered in 5 minutes. The spa staff also were very friendly, too, & the facility & therapist top notch! The workout room had what I needed (next to the spa) in a very nice courtyard with a fire pit, & I could work out after dinner. As a woman traveling alone, I felt very comfortable & safe at this hotel because it isn't huge. There was an unexpected walking park next to the pool area, too (not exactly part of the hotel) but felt like it. The only issue is that the hotel is hard to find; however, it is conveniently located in a funky section of Santa Rosa where you can walk to antique dealers, retro clothing, bohemian shops & coffee bars & small restaurants. Ate at Kham Loomi (thai) & was VERY pleased overall with service & food. Also, a mall happens to be located a few blocks down so it was great when the airport broke my luggage & I didn't have a car & had to walk only 5-10 minutes to buy new. I would definitely stay there again. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"Relaxing night away"
It was nice, the room was a bit smaller than what I expected for the price, the bed was ok but not super comfy and they had a top sheet on the mattress instead of a fitted sheet which kept coming loose and bunching uncomfortably. But it was clean and staff were fantastic. The food in the restaurant was great and again the restaurant staff were fantastic. […] Pool was nice but too many kids taking it over ,4 at least of which I suspect were a local family and not actually guests of the hotel!!! "Santa Rosa Hyatt"
me & my husband stayed here after the Silver Oak release party in Geyserville for their 2007 Napa valley cab, it's w/in 1/2 hr drive and decently priced and the room was clean and surroundings' been all updated. of one note, the original building must have been quite some age as we werer staying on the 2nd floor and the room was shaking a little bit […] as we walk w/in the room (we're all small size people, I weight ~120 lbs). other than that, service was promt and great, we order a bottle of Alexander valley cab for ~60 w/ gratuity, breakfast were right at the time we requested, the coffee was quite so-so, however... we also like the fire pit in the middle of the courtyard, if they have a pool then we can bring the kids next time... Restaurant near by: we tried Sea Thai Bistro in Santa Rosa, pretty awesome Thai/fussion cuisines w/ locals recommanded to make reservations for wk/ends. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

"Room smelled like a smoker stayed in there"
For a Hyatt Resort and Spa property, I guess I expected a higher level of accomodations. This was one of the expensive hotels in the area and I was not impressed. First, when I arrived, the hotel clerk was nice enough but proceeded to describe out loud where my room was located in front of a couple of men behind me. As a woman travelling alone, safety […] is priority and I think the more discreet way to handle that is to draw the path on the hotel map. I would think Hyatt trains their employees to be aware. Second, when i entered the room, I immediately smelled the telltale sign of smoke. It could have been from the firepit located several hundred feet from my patio door on the first floor. However, I do not think the smell would have been that pervasive. Too tired to move to another room, i turned on the fan. No windows to open so the air recirculated. Third, the bed was not comfortable. A bit lumpy... not at all like some beds I have had the pleasure of resting in at other properties. All in all, I'd have to say I will not be back. It's a nice looking place and the marketing is good. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

"Hyatt Hotel in Santa Rosa, CA"
This is a very good hotel and one I would recommend. I have stayed here several times on my twice annual trips between Southern California and Northern Oregon. On this visit, however, I had to wait for perhaps 10 minutes, while a young woman reserved several rooms for herself and other young friends who, from the looks of things, were planning to PARTY. […] I requested a room that was FAR away from the party people, because I had driven many hours that day and wanted to get some rest before continuing on my journey. "Decent hotel, Decent price"
Overall, the hotel was kept in good shape and all necessary services were provided. It's got a few nice touches -- including an outdoor patio area with a fire pit, patio doors (on some rooms) that can open into a central square, etc. The furnishing were decent, although I found the bed uncomfortable. It's a nice hotel, but not likely one that's going […] to make a lifetime impression. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Hyatt Santa Rosa"
Very good location near the small section of downtown SR and adjacent to a paved trail running along a creek. Short drive to a little larger section of shops, restaurants on the East side of Hwy 101. Clean grounds, clean rooms, friendly staff, small pool. Only complaint would be the $10 charge per day for internet access, even the business center is […] charged by the hour. No wifi in the lobby...nothing. I mean really...raise the room rates by $5 and give us wifi for free and we would all be happier. Anybody listening??? Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Hyatt in Santa Rosa - great location, but disappo"
Excellent beds. Disappointed to find no refrigerator in the room, and only three small drawers for storage of clothing. Access to the room by elevator was inconvenient both because of location of the elevator and requirement to have a room key to go up. The other disappointment was the difficulty we experienced with the front desk being unable to understand […] the length of our prepaid reservation, sending a final bill to our room on three days of our 5 day stay, and cancelling our keycards on two days at noon, despite our reminding them each day of the duration of our reservation, and their assurance that all was understood.. "Nice but overpriced, drunken wine enthusiasts"
We stayed in the hotel for one night this past weekend. The hotel is pretty, it's in a convenient location and the restaurant is very good. However, on a Saturday night many of the guests were in town to tour the wineries, and a number of them came back drunk and boisterous. Every half our or so until after midnight there was some very loud passerby […] in the hall outside our room. I specifically asked for a quiet room because we have a 1-yr-old and our room was anything but quiet. Also, for a 'deluxe king' it was incredibly small. It's also RIDICULOUS that they charge for internet. What do they think this is, 1995? Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
