    I am an avid traveller and I have stayed in numerous types of hotels, ranging from a Comfort Inn to your 4 or 5 star rated hotels. Hotel Palomar ranks... in my Top 3, as of this moment. Its location in downtown Dallas, the decor of the lobby, the warmth and courteous front desk staff, the pool area, the restaurant (Central 214), the room itself..... I can go on and on. I HIGHLY recommend this hotel to anyone, especially during the summer months, due to their summer specials on room rates. If any of you encounter Michael at the front desk, he will take care of you.     Overview

    Location.
    Hotel Palomar Dallas - a Kimpton Hotel stands one block from shopping and entertainment of Mockingbird Station. Two blocks away are Southern Methodist University and a Dallas Area Rapid Transit (DART) rail station, linking guests directly to downtown venues, including the Dallas Museum of Art and American Airlines Center, located less than five miles from the hotel.

    Hotel Features.
    The hotel hosts complimentary evening wine hours and serves light fare in the lobby lounge amidst leather and velvet seating groups. Central 214's serves American regional cuisine in a fine dining environment.

    The 24-hour business center offers computers and high-speed Internet access; complimentary to Kimpton InTouch members) and 7 meeting and conference rooms. The Hotel Palomar Dallas' rooftop infinity pool and 24-hour fitness center offer views of the Dallas skyline. Personalized spa treatments and therapies include core fusion toning classes on site at Exhale Spa. An airport shuttle (surcharge) is available with advanced notice.     My husband and I decided to take a romantic mini-vacation & decided that Hotel Palomar fit the bill. The front desk receptionist was excellent as was the dog behind the front desk. (The hotel is very dog friendly & also offers a goldfish companion if you are traveling alone). The hotel room itself was pretty standard with some nice bedding. Sort of […] an upgraded Marriott. I would rate the hotel between a 3 and a 3 1/2. The pool area was nice, however, the pool service was slow and somewhat disorganized. The drinks were fine but the food was just 'ok'. The main problem we encountered was with the valet service. Upon returning our car Saturday evening we were walking into the hotel & one of the attendants actually backed right into by husband (in a car) and pinched the side of my foot under the tire. We didn't even get a 'sorry' or 'are you ok'? The attendants all just looked at us with their mouths hanging open. After returning home I emailed management about the incident & was responded to promptly by the general manager. He apologized profusely, comped our room & said that he was initiating an investigation into the incident. My feelings remain mixed about the establishment. I received 40% off the rack room rate. Had I paid full price I think I would have been really disappointed. That being said, the reaction from the management regarding the 'incident' was sincere & immediate.     Just across the street from Mockingbird Station, the hotel provides easy access to a local retail area and easy access to 75. The service was great. The room seemed a bit small for the price, but was well appointed. A few things needed more attention to detail - the bathroom sink had a significant crack in it, but overall a great stay. Thanks.

    EVERYTHING about this hotel and staff exceeded our expectations and what anyone should expect for the price. We stay in motels/hotels about 20 nights per year.     O hotel é lindo e o pessoal extremamente atencioso. Fica encostado em uma das principais freeways da cidade de onde é fácil ir para qualquer lugar. Adquiri um pacote de "anniversary" com o pessoal da concierge que valeu muito a pena. Arrumaram o quarto de uma maneira super caprichada, e minha esposa adorou a surpresa.
