"Comfortable and friendly"

"Great location for first Dallas visit."
Accomodating valets and conceirge desk. Volunteered printed out easier directions back to correct interstate. Enjoyed different daily citrus infused waters in lobby especially in very hot sunny weather I experienced during stay. The service at check-in was non-existent. I suppose overnight stays don't warrant a quick tour of the hotel and its amenities. I mean I didn't even know where the concierge and fitness center were until getting off the elevator and looking at a sign. However, the room was nice with a comfortable king size bed and 40-something inch flat screen, WiFi […] and wired net, a "mini" garden tub, and digital safe. Would I stay again? Yes. The hotel was in a great location. The only downside of the hotel was when I booked the room I asked for two queen beds because 4 people were traveling. After we checked in, we were issued one king bed and then had to request a pull out bed. I asked if there was any way we could get a room with two queen beds, but I was told there were none left in […] the hotel. I understand that my preference during booking the room is only a preference. But when another group of people we were traveling with had the same problem and checked in after I did, they were upgraded to two queen beds after asking for two queen beds instead of a king bed. I do not know why they were able to get upgraded to two queen beds and I was not. We both booked through hotels.com at the same time. After hearing this, I went with my friend who was just upgraded to a different room to ask if I could change to a room with two queen beds. But still I received the same answer. "Just Ok for Middle of Downtown Dallas"
I had family in town for the weekend and i really wanted to show off downtown dallas. I think for the hotel being literally in the middle of everything one can do downtown, i was a little disappointed. The room was nice and the beds were ok but ive stayed at other marriots in the middle of nowhere and was a lot more satisfied. The do have an ice rink […] in the middle of the hotel city center which is a nice plus if one is traveling with kids, and there is a mini mall i guess you can call it but the shops were closed the day we were there. The front desk people were nice and i was able to get an uograde for the same price which was a little more roomy.
