Once the headquarters of the Magnolia Petroleum Company, the Magnolia Hotel Dallas is located in the historic downtown district of Dallas, Texas. Within one block is the flagship Neiman Marcus department store and Main Street. The Beaux Arts building is located within four blocks of the Kennedy Memorial and The Sixth Floor Museum at Dealey Plaza. The hotel stands adjacent to Pegasus Park, where concerts and movies are held seasonally.

Contemporary furnishings, a starlit rotunda and a Starbucks coffee shop compose the Magnolia Hotel's lobby. The hotel provides complimentary fare throughout the day, including buffet-style breakfasts at the Magnolia Court, afternoon cocktails and evening cookies and milk in the Magnolia Club's library, which features a fireplace, billiards and plasma television. The Magnolia Hotel's 329 guestrooms feature tall ceilings and bedding with Egyptian cotton linens and pillowtop mattresses. Rooms are equipped with complimentary wireless Internet access. "Convenient Location, small room and slow service"
We stayed at the Magnolia for 4 nights. The room was very small - only enough room to walk around the bed. The bathrooms are very large by comparison, almost half the size of the bedroom. The hotel offered nice extras including a buffet breakfast, a happy hour with up to 2 glasses complementary of their house wine and milk and cookies at night. Our […] room was clean, but showed some wear and tear. It is conveniently located in downtown Dallas - only a 10 minute walk to the Convention Center. We felt safe walking in the area and were able to get everywhere we needed to go without a car. The food offered in the hotel was tasty and a good value. The only downside to our stay was that service was exceptionally slow. While most of the staff was friendly, we had to wait a minimum of 40 minutes for any order in the hotel lounge (45 minutes for room service at night). Although the hotel offered up to 2 glasses of wine during their happy hour, I don't think it is possible to get 2 glasses of wine in the timeframe allowed because service was so slow. One night we tried to call room service and never received an answer to the phone call so we went down to the lounge to order our dinner. Even though there were only 4 tables with patrons, we waited about 40 minutes for bar food. Overall, we enjoyed our stay and would recommend it to anyone looking for a good place to stay in downtown Dallas, just be sure you bring your patience as well as your luggage. "Great Hotel for Holiday Bowl - Go Pokes!"
My husband and I were visiting Downtown Dallas to attend The Holiday Bowl - OSU vs. Purdue....Go Pokes! We stayed in a great room on the 24th Floor...the view was amazing! The hotel was lovely, more quiet than I had imagined for a New Year's Eve! We went to the Dallas Aquarium which was a nice surprise...everything from monkeys to sharks! A friend and I went to Dallas to run in a half marathon being held there. We needed something close to the start so we didn't have to worry about driving to the race. Things were filling up fast but I was able to snag this hotel room at a good price - a Queen suite. And how sweet it was! Two blocks from the race start; accessible to many eateries. "Hotel Lied about Late Check Out"
I chose to stay in this hotel the night before the Dallas Marathon. One of the primary reasons we chose this hotel was it's location and that they allowed a late check out (3pm) so we could shower after the run. We spoke to staff members two times before driving to Dallas to ensure we would be able to have a late check out. At no time did the staff […] members, nor did the website indicate we would be charged an ADDITIONAL $50 for the late check out! It was very frustrating to arrive at the hotel and then be told of the additional fee. I think that once the hotel realized how many guests were running and opting to check out late they added the late check out fee. I think the entire situation was handled poorly. We talked to several other guests of the hotel who were also running in the event that had encountered the same situation of confirming late check out with no fee and then being told about the fee after arriving at the hotel. The hotel did let us check out as normal and then gave us access to the hotel locker room showers - while not private or relaxing - especially after running 26.2 miles - they were adequate. My parents were also staying at the hotel and they received horrible service. Their room key didn't work and they had to wait for over 15 minutes for someone to come and fix it. Their internet service never worked. I will say that my daughter and husband really enjoyed the 8pm 'warm cookie' bar. My husband also enjoyed the 5:30pm free happy hour.
